Good evening, Trojan Families!

This is a message from your proud principal, Mrs. Kinard, and the school leaders at Ferndale Middle School. We strongly encourage you to access the digital version of this announcement, available on our school website and social media. It contains additional important information that you and your students need to know.

Good Evening Trojan Families,

We hope this message finds you well! As we continue our journey through the school year, we want to share some important upcoming dates and ways you can support your student’s success.

📝 Interim Assessments – March 19-21

From Wednesday, March 19, to Friday, March 21, our students will be taking interim assessments in their core subjects. These assessments help us track progress and ensure students are mastering essential skills.

How You Can Help Your Student Prepare:
✅ Ensure a Good Night’s Sleep – Well-rested minds perform better!
✅ Eat a Healthy Breakfast – A nutritious meal fuels focus and stamina.
✅ Encourage a Positive Mindset – Remind your child that effort and perseverance are key!
✅ Arrive on Time – Being on time helps students start the day with confidence.

📆 Quarter 3 Ends – March 28

The end of Quarter 3 is quickly approaching on Friday, March 28! This is a great time to check in on grades and ensure students finish strong.

Ways to Support Academic Success:
✔ Check PowerSchool – Stay updated on assignments and grades.
✔ Encourage Study & Organization – Help your student create a study plan for missing or upcoming work.
✔ Communicate with Teachers – If your child needs support, reach out to their teachers as soon as possible.
✔ Celebrate Progress! – Recognize hard work and improvement to keep motivation high.

We appreciate your partnership in helping our students thrive! If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teachers or the main office.

Thank you for your continued support!

GCS Immigration Response GCS Immigration Response

Every family should know that every child in Guilford County has the Constitutional right to attend school regardless of immigration status. The Guilford County Schools does not request or record information about a student’s immigration status. Federal and state laws protect student information from disclosure to others, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). GCS does not permit non-students, including ICE agents, access to GCS facilities unless they can produce a warrant signed by a federal judge. School administrators will not permit the disclosure of confidential student information without first consulting their attorney to make sure that the information has been properly subject to a federal judge’s warrant.

Families should consult community resources to learn their rights and additional information will be provided to help families access these resources.
