A Leader in Me School - August 14, 2026
Happy First Week, Terrapins!
What a wonderful first two days of school! Our students came back with big smiles, ready to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and settle into their new classrooms. It was such a joy to see our TK and Kindergarten Terrapins navigate campus like seasoned pros—you would never have guessed it was their very first day!
Remember, if you are dropping off a TK or Kinder student, please drop off at the TK/K gate. If your child is eating breakfast or is 1st-5th grade, they will enter the gate, by the MPR. Breakfast starts right at 7:25.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. We are off to a fantastic start and can't wait to see what this year holds.
A couple of important dates coming up:
Back-to-School Night (Grades 2–5) - Tuesday, August 18
Grades 2-3: 5:45-6:30
Grades 4-5: 6:45-7:30
Come learn about your child's classroom, curriculum, and teacher for the year.
First Friday Flag & Principal Chat
Friday, September 4 | MPR @ 7:50
All parents and families are invited to campus to see Leader in Me in action—our students will lead the entire event from start to finish! Come to the MPR after you drop your student at the gate, to visit with friends, then find a spot to cheer on our Terrapin leaders as they lead our first assembly of the year! Stay after the Friday Flag for an informal Q&A with Mrs. Maguire.
Leader in Me - Starting next week, your child will begin learning about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey—the foundation of our Leader in Me framework. Throughout the year, we'll be sharing more about each habit in our newsletter, and we hope you'll get to experience the same sense of agency and excitement in your child that we see here on campus every day.
