BE EPICER @ CTE
At Cherokee Trail we focus on six traits, teaching and fostering them in our classrooms and school-wide in order to create learners who are strong academically and socially.
They are:
ENTHUSIASM * PERSEVERANCE * INTEGRITY * COURAGE * EMPATHY * RESPECT
Read more on the EPICER page!
In APRIL we will be focusing on the EPICER trait of R-E-S-P-E-C-T:
* I listen carefully to adults and students and do not interrupt
* I show empathy when interacting with others
* I accept feedback and respond in a positive way
* I own my actions and make things right
* I use manners

THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES
The Principal Chronicles continue ...
We finally made it through our state testing, and by the end of the week, we should be basically done with round one of testing month. Our students performed well and definitely worked extremely hard. I was very proud to see our students and staff put such good effort in. In addition, I was very proud of how our students behaved when they weren't testing. They tried to be quiet in the hallway, adjusted to the different schedules, and really behaved themselves. Now we get a little bit of a break before we jump in with our District-mandated testing. There is just so much to do this last part of the year.
Our teachers still have to finish inputting their data, finish up their data notebooks, write reflections, finish their testing for the District, and still teach the remaining portion of the curriculum ... and that is all before we set them loose on finishing their report cards! Now you can see how fast the time goes for us here at school.
On the home front, I was able to talk to my one and only for a few minutes the other day. What was the conversation around you ask? Her favorite topic, money. She needed to "sell" me two tickets to a sorority function of hers to raise money for their charity. She had to sell four tickets and so she sold one to me, her mom, and my parents. I highly doubt that she is going to "sell" any other ones. You'd think with her personality, she would be good at selling things, but she isn't. She gets really weird and shy about it.
Outside of that, my sister and her husband just moved to Grand Junction. Apparently, they don't like being around people, and also, apparently, there aren't any people in Grand Junction. They also bought this camper thing that fits on the back of their truck. I guess they need to be ready to go camping at a moment's notice. I literally have no idea why they want to live in Grand Junction but I guess they aren't sure about it either. They are going to rent an Airbnb for a month while they decide if they really want to live there. I didn't even know you could rent an Airbnb for a month at a time. On top of that, they have also moved everything out of their house so I am not sure they would want to move all of their stuff back into their house right after they moved it all out? I gave up trying to understand what they are doing and will essentially just mind my own business.
That is it for this week's episode, stay tuned for next week when the Principal Chronicles continue ...
