Week of March 15, 2026
NO SCHOOL: March 16th
due to Staff Professional Development Day
Highlights this week at CHSA began on Saturday as we proudly cheered on our speller in the county competition. Throughout the week, we continued to celebrate literacy with Mrs. Hicks reading to our Read Across America bingo winners. As we wind down the second trimester, students enjoyed engaging activities that kept learning fun and memorable, like making light sabers. Friday Night was Family Math Game Night, facilitated by PVSD Math Content Specialist Mindy Froelich.
Congratulations to Stefan, Henry, and Declan for their perseverance in running 100 miles!
Welcome to the 100 mile Club!
Good Luck to our CHSA Brainiacs, who will be representing our school at the 2026 Camarillo Academic Olympics Super Quiz. They will be competing on March 17th at 4:00 PM at MVMS. Long hours of studying and having fun learning with their Coach Mrs. Cox has paid off, they are ready! Go Lions!
Safety Drills: Lockdown Drill, March 19, 2026
CHSA conducts monthly safety drills (fire/evacuation, duck & cover, lockdown, shelter-in-place) to make sure we are prepared in the event of an actual emergency. All drills are conducted in a format that are "teachable moments" for our students. We will be conducting a lockdown drill this week. Please contact Mrs. Hicks if you have any questions about our drills.
**Important Information for 4th & 5th Grade Families***
Family Life and Sexual Health (FLASH) Parent Information (4th – 8th grade students)
In compliance with California Health Youth Act (California Education Code (CEC) 51930- 51939) the District provides FLASH instruction to students in grades 4-8. Letters have been sent home outlining the materials covered at each grade level, along with providing families with dates and time to preview the district’s curriculum. Included in the letter is also an opt out option for families who do not wish for their children to participate. CHSA will be viewing the materials April 13-14, 2026. If you have question, please contact your school office.
TK/K Reminders from Mrs. Monica, Health Tech
TK/K Families-
You have seen Oral Health reminders coming out. Please make sure to bring in your form to Mrs. Monica as soon as you get your dental appt complete. If you put them in your students' backpacks, they sometimes get lost. Mrs. Monica will be sending a monthly reminder from now until May 🙂
All TK/K students should have a set of extra clothes in their backpacks at all times. This helps avoid lots of phone calls home.
Thank you so much for your cooperation,
