Ballard High SchoolFriday MessageOctober 23, 2026

Dear Ballard High School Families,

With the beautiful fall colors we are having, I am mindful of just how quickly the seasons change. And as the end of the first quarter is less than two weeks away, it is a good time to pause and check in to see how our students are doing both academically and socially. If you find that your student is in need of support beyond the classroom, please know that we have a range of school resources available.

These are just a few resources available for students:

Academic:

-Communication with teachers via email and during the 20-minutes before or 20-minutes after school.

-The library is open each day from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm (Friday=4:00)

-Math tutoring is available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:40-5:00 and on Wednesday from 2:30-5:00

-Tutor.com—Refer to this PPT for details on how to access this amazing and FREE resource provided by Seattle Public Libraries!

Social:

Clubs! See our current club offerings: https://ballardhs.seattleschools.org/student-life/clubs-and-organizations/

Athletics:

As we soon approach the winter sports season, wrestling and unified are no cut sports and a great way to be involved. And sports that typically don’t see cuts based on turnout include: girls’ flag football, girls’ gymnastics, girls’ bowling, girls’ ultimate frisbee, and boys’ swimming. Basketball is also a great option for those wanting to try-out. https://ballardhs.seattleschools.org/news/winter-athletics-club-sports/

Social Emotional/Mental Health:

-our counseling team is an amazing resource as is our Teen Health Center https://ballardhs.seattleschools.org/resources/counseling-center/ and https://ballardhs.seattleschools.org/resources/school-nurse/teen-health-center/

Additionally, our social worker is here to support students M-Th!

As always, thank you for your partnership and support, and a reminder that additional Ballard HS news and information can always be found on our website: https://ballardhs.seattleschools.org/ or through our amazing PTSA Newsletter.

Go, Beavers!
