mCLASS Benchmark
mClass Benchmark Home Connect
A parent score recap of the beginning of the year benchmark data will be inside the purple folder. This data will be used to progress monitor students as we progress throughout the year. The benchmark will be given again in December and May to monitor growth. mCLASS Benchmark Home Connect is an Amplify initiative that provides parents and caregivers with letters summarizing their child's mCLASS Benchmark assessment results and personalized practice activities for literacy and/or math. Teachers generate and send these letters to families after benchmark assessments to explain the scores, demonstrate areas of strength and weakness, and offer strategies to support student learning at home.

Grizzly 100 Reading Challenge at Greenbriar!
Greetings Families,
The message below is from our librarian, Mrs. Pulley. I will be sending home the book bags tomorrow. They need to be returned on Friday with their purple folder. Could you please place one of their library books inside the bag. I will leave their book log in there and please make sure it always stays in there. They can use this log instead of the log I have in the homework packet. It will still be in the homework packet for a few weeks as I already have them printed. These bags will be sent home on most Tuesdays after we visit the library with a library book in there along with other things they can practice and their reading log. So it will be sent home on most Tuesdays, but it can stay home until Friday, or you could always leave it in their backpack so it is always with them. That is totally up to you.
"We’re thrilled to kick off the Grizzly 100 Reading Challenge at Greenbriar! From now through May 1st, students are encouraged to read 100 books to grow as independent readers.
How it works:
- Picture books = 1 entry (log title & author)
- Chapter books = 1 entry per 25 pages read
- All reading counts! (audiobooks, graphic novels, books read aloud, e-books, etc.)
Students will log their reading in their packets at home and school. When they hit 25, 50, 75, and 100 books, we’ll celebrate their progress!
Thank you for supporting your child’s reading adventure!"
Thank you,
Mr. Strube
Weekly Homework Packet
This is the weekly homework packet for September 2-5 Due on Friday, September 5
The Homework Packet is sent home each Monday, and it is due by Friday (signed) each week. Each week your child will complete the packet. The packet is made up of a spiral review of Reading, English, and Math skills. Each skill area is separated by day. Students should tun in packet with each day finished by Friday of each week. The students will have a quiz on the topics in the weekly packet. Please sign the reading log. If a child completes his/her homework and returns it, then he/she will earn Superhero Points to spend at the Superhero Store each month. The is scored for Superhero Store Points based on the completion percentage (see above). It is for the practice and family interaction. In a few weeks students will have spelling words to practice. When spelling starts they will get their words in the Homework Packet on Mondays. Students will have a pre-test on Wednesdays and the Final Test on Fridays. The pre-test test is on Wednesday, and if they get 100% correct on the pre-test, they will use that score and will not test on Friday. Remember you can complete the book borrowing sheet and your child will bring home some books at their reading level. The books can be returned at anytime during the week or on Fridays.
