Message from Principal Nicole Pease
It has been another wonderful week! Funny enough, as I was driving to work, I was thinking about the newsletter and was feeling that I did not have much to write about. Maybe it was because my mind had been focusing upon preparing for the Harvest Supper/Open House tonight. Ironically, once the day started, there was so much going on that I have to share!
As I pulled in to school, I saw the bread oven fired up. I remembered that Deb Quinn (4th/5th grade teacher) is going to be cooking bread rolls for Harvest Supper. The variety of goings on continued. As we lined up at the end of our morning recess, we sang the song we are learning to sign the words for. Three of the Kindergarten/First Grade butterflies emerged and were later released. Jeannie Connolly was here to work with Art Teacher Justin Melle for students to create lanterns for the Lantern Festival in December (your child's lantern will be sent home closer to that date). Two classrooms held Reading Buddies outside in the sunshine. Whew!
I am continually thankful for all the wonderful things that our staff bring into and do with our students! Looking forward to seeing you tonight. Have a lovely weekend, Nicole
DCS Art, October 2023
I enjoyed meeting all the students at Dublin Consolidated School this week.
Students designed colorful maps, practiced observational drawings, studied portraits, and imagined fantastic landscapes. We also joined Children and the Arts with Ms. Jeannie in building fish lanterns. When I return on the week of December 4th, we will explore color, shape, space, and texture with collage.
Thank you for encouraging creativity!

Press Release: Peterborough Library hosts Children’s Coat and Winter Gear Drive
Peterborough— Peterborough Library announced a coat and winter gear drive to be held on October 20th at the library. The drive is for items to fit children size 24 months through size 12 and is intended for children up to 4th grade. Please be sure items are clean and in good condition with zippers working. The Friends of the Library will have volunteers on hand to screen donated items on October 20th from 10am-6pm. The library asks folks not to drop off bags of items at the library door. Donated items will be sorted and put out for two free give-away days on November 17th and 18th during library business hours. “Recycling and sharing winter items is a great benefit to everyone in the community. Everyone should feel welcome to come down and grab whatever items they could use for their children. Kids often grow out of boots and coats fast so this is a great way to share and reduce clothing waste,” said Library Director Corinne Chronopoulos.
For more information about the drive, stay tuned to the library website for announcements. A second drop-off day may be scheduled depending on the amount collected on October 20th.
Peterborough Town Library is located at 2 Concord Street in Peterborough and is open Monday-Saturday. For more information on this program or any of our services, please visit PeterboroughTownLibrary.org or call (603) 924-8040.

DCS collects aluminum can tabs for "Tabs for Taylor"
Taylor is 15 years old and has been a patient at Shriners Hospital since birth. She has benefitted greatly by receiving prosthetics and her family gives back by collecting can tabs. The can tabs go to purchasing items for patient care. Taylor is the niece of Sarah Precourt (Mrs. Hopkin's daughter).
DCS has been collecting tabs for years and countless students and their families have contributed to this effort. Please send in any tabs from aliminum cans and we will add them to the collection. Thank you!
