BRAHMA BRIEFING
DIAMOND BAR HIGH SCHOOL
Dear Brahma Family,
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and is ready for an incredible year ahead. I am so excited to have our students and staff back on campus.
Our theme this year is Brahma Branded, a celebration of who we are, how we show up, and the pride we have in being part of the Brahma Family. I am looking forward to a great year together!
Once a Brahma, Always a Brahma,

Monthly Awareness and Heritage Observances
Month of August
August is recognized as National Civility Month, a time dedicated to promoting kindness, empathy, active listening, and respectful communication. It is an opportunity to remind ourselves that even when we disagree, we can choose to treat one another with dignity and respect.
Being Brahma Branded means choosing kindness over hostility, listening to understand, giving others the benefit of the doubt, and handling disagreements with maturity and respect. As we begin a new school year, letβs make civility part of our Brahma identity. Be proud. Be respectful. Be kind. Be Brahma Branded.
Month of August
August is National Black Business Month, an opportunity to recognize, celebrate, and support Black-owned businesses and the entrepreneurs who contribute to communities across the United States. The observance highlights the history, resilience, innovation, and economic impact of Black entrepreneurs and business owners.
Being Brahma Branded means celebrating the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and contributions that make our community stronger. This month, we can honor Black entrepreneurship by learning about Black-owned businesses, recognizing their contributions, and supporting them in our communities.
August 9
August 9 marks the International Day of the Worldβs Indigenous Peoples, a day to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, accomplishments, and contributions of Indigenous peoples around the world. This day also serves as an opportunity to raise awareness of the rights of Indigenous peoples and honor the traditional knowledge and cultural practices passed down through generations.
Being Brahma Branded means celebrating the diversity that makes our community stronger, honoring different cultures and perspectives, and creating a place where every student feels seen, valued, and respected.

Personal Electronic Signaling Devices
A quick reminder to our Brahma Family about the WVUSD Personal Electronic Signaling Device Policy:
Students are expected to keep personal electronic signaling devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices, turned off and stored away during each class period. For more information please see our student handbook.
Mandatory E-Bike and E-Scooter Safety Training
Students who plan to ride an e-bike or e-scooter to or from school must complete the online e-bike and e-scooter safety and policy training. This training ensures students understand traffic laws, safety expectations, and the specific regulations related to e-bike and e-scooter use. The course covers key topics such as traffic laws and local ordinances, safe operation of e-bikes and e-scooters, and licensing and age requirements.
To register for the e-bike and e-scooter safety training, go to https://www.pedalace.com/wvusd and complete the self-enrollment process. You will need to provide your name, student ID number, and student WVUSD email address. After registering, you will receive instructions to begin the online training. When finished, PedalAce will send a completion certificate along with instructions for obtaining the WVUSD sticker for the studentβs e-bike or e-scooter.
Students must place the WVUSD sticker on the handlebars of their e-bike or e-scooter and must wear a helmet while riding. E-bikes and e-scooters without the WVUSD completion sticker will not be permitted on campus.
