We have 9 full days left of the 1st 9 weeks. On October 11th we will have a half day for the end of the quarter and will dismiss at noon. We will be doing quarterly celebrations this year instead of Monthly. Students will need to have all missing assignments turned in and grades brought up to get to participate in our celebrations. We want to reward our students for their hard work academically, as well as behaviorally. Please work with your students on organizing and prioritizing their assignments and getting their work done by the end of the 9 weeks.

We do have ASAP available but please remember students need to be respectful and want to get help on their work. If a student is going to be a distraction to others and prevent the other students who are there from learning they will be asked to leave and will not be allowed to attend for awhile.

Students of the Month Students of the Month

The Leadership class will award 2 girls and 2 boys from each grade level once a month as Students of the Month. Students receive a certificate and a drink and a snack.

When teachers nominate students they are looking for the following:

This week, students in grades 6-8 began learning about Character Dares through CharacterStrong, our Social-Emotional Curriculum. The CharacterDare is described as a workout for our hearts and enables us to actively practice and enhance skills such as kindness, patience, and respect. Our Character dare for the upcoming week is: Have a conversation with a staff member and learn something new about them.

We would also like to extend an invitation to all families to join us in taking up these challenges whenever possible. We are excited to discover the positive impact that these shared challenges can have on our students, families, and community.

I need anyone with a student participating in esports to download the remind app and sign in to the esports group. The invite code is JWMStigers. Competition begins Monday and there are some messages that I need to get out to them to make sure everyone has their accounts in order before they can participate.

Students might not be able to start competition if they do not have a parent or legal guardian enrolled in the remind group.
