Kirby STEM Academy | October 19โ23, 2026
Happy Week 11, Falcon Families! ๐๐
As we continue into the second nine weeks, I want to thank our amazing Falcon families for your continued support and partnership! We are off to a great start, and I am excited about the opportunities ahead for our students.
Last week was filled with wonderful moments that brought our Falcon community together! From our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration to our first school dance, it was incredible to see our students celebrating, connecting, and making lasting memories. A huge thank you to our staff, volunteers, and families who helped make these events possible!
As we move forward, our focus remains on academic success, positive behavior, attendance, and accountability. We recently held our Grade-Level Success Assemblies to review campus expectations and encourage students to make the most of the new grading period.
โฐ Beginning Monday, October 19, we will implement our new Falcon On-Time Accountability Plan. Being on time to class is essential to student success, and we need your help reinforcing the importance of punctuality. Please talk with your child about getting to class on time, following hallway expectations, and making responsible choices throughout the school day. Together, we can protect valuable instructional time and help our students develop positive habits!
๐ Academics Matter! Please continue checking your child's grades regularly through the Parent Portal. The second nine weeks is an opportunity for every student to start strong, set goals, and work toward academic improvement. Encourage your child to complete assignments, attend tutoring when needed, and ask for help.
๐ Exciting Events Are Coming! We are looking forward to Red Ribbon Week, October 26โ30, and our upcoming Trick or Treat Lane on Tuesday, October 27, from 5:30โ6:30 PM! We hope to see our Falcon families participating in these fun opportunities to celebrate school spirit and community.
๐ค We Want Your Voice! Our first Site-Based Decision-Making (SBDM) Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, from 4:00โ5:00 PM. We encourage parents and guardians interested in helping shape the future of Kirby STEM Academy to complete the interest form included in this newsletter.
As always, thank you for trusting us with your children and for being an important part of our Falcon Family. Your involvement, encouragement, and support make a tremendous difference in the success of our students.
Let's make Week 11 another great week of learning, growth, and Falcon pride!
Every Student. Every Day. Every Opportunity to SOAR! ๐๐๐ฆ

๐ฆ โฐ Falcon On-Time Accountability Plan โ Begins Monday, October 19!
New Tardy Accountability Plan Begins Monday, October 19!
Falcon Families, we need your help! ๐
Being on time to class is an important part of student success. When students arrive late, they miss valuable instruction, disrupt learning, and fall behind. To help our Falcons develop responsibility and positive attendance habits, Kirby STEM Academy will begin implementing our Falcon On-Time Accountability Plan on Monday, October 19, 2026.
Our goal is not simply to assign consequences but to teach accountability, improve punctuality, and ensure students are in class and ready to learn!
โฐ What Happens When Students Are Tardy?
Our campus will use a progressive intervention system based on each student's cumulative number of tardies:
๐ข 3โ5 Tardies: Student warning, review of expectations, and parent notification.
๐ก 6โ10 Tardies: One lunch detention, parent notification, and counselor or administrator check-in.
๐ 11โ15 Tardies: Two lunch detentions, student reflection, and parent contact.
๐ด 16โ20 Tardies: One after-school detention, administrator conference, and improvement plan.
๐ด 21โ25 Tardies: Two after-school detentions, required parent conference, and counselor intervention.
๐จ 26+ Tardies: Saturday School, administrative intervention plan, weekly monitoring, and additional consequences as appropriate.
๐ How Will This Work?
Every Friday, campus administration will review cumulative tardy reports. Students who reach a new intervention level will receive the corresponding consequence the following week. Families will be contacted as needed.
๐ Parents, We Need Your Partnership!
Please help us by reminding your child to:
โ Arrive at school on time each morning.
โ Move directly to class when the bell rings.
โ Avoid unnecessary stops or socializing during passing periods.
โ Take responsibility for being in class before the tardy bell.
We understand that circumstances sometimes arise, and we encourage families to communicate with us if their child is experiencing challenges that affect punctuality.
Together, we can build positive habits, protect instructional time, and help every Falcon succeed!
๐ฆ Every Student. Every Day. Every Transition.
Thank you for partnering with Kirby STEM Academy! ๐๐
๐ธ Picture Make-Up Day โ October 19

Please remind your student to come prepared and dressed for their picture. We look forward to helping all Falcons get their school portrait completed!
