Dear parents, carers, staff and friends,
Anti-Bullying Week
We have had a very busy Anti-Bullying Week led by our super team of Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. We started with 'Odd Sock Day' on Monday to celebrate what is unique in each of us. Every day, the children took part in learning activities about kindness. On Friday, we congratulated the winners of our poster competition and were amazed at the length of the chain of respect the children created - full of messages and reminders about being kind and respectful of others, standing up for what is right, being a good friend and being an upstander. We talk to the children about being 'upstanders' not bystanders - standing up for our friends and speaking out if we see or hear something unkind. Well done and thank you to teacher Marianne and our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors for a great week!
Open Morning
Thanks so much to all the parents/carers who popped in last Friday for our first Open Morning. This is a chance to visit your child's class informally on the first Friday of each month. This month, the children were excited to have their adults joining the morning circle! Next month, our Open Morning will be on Friday, 5th December and it will be our annual Winter Art session. This can often be about 1 hour long when parents/carers will complete an art or craft activity with their child. It's always a gorgeous morning - so do book it in your diary!
Parent-Teacher Meetings
Huge thanks to all the parents/carers who took the time to complete our survey on the timings of our parent-teacher meetings. We have listened to your feedback and created more morning slots, more slots immediately after the children finish school, as well as slots for later in the evening. We hope there will be something for everyone! The available time slots will be released on Aladdin shortly. You must have the Aladdin Connect app to book your appointment. Families with more than 2 children can book from Friday 14th, and all families can book from Monday 17th.
News from last week

Glanmore - food update
Glanmore Foods say: we recently made some changes to the potato cubes on our menu however, we understand that this update hasn’t been well-received by some children. We’ve worked with children in several schools to test alternatives. As a result, potato cubes will be replaced with either plain pasta or mashed potatoes. These changes are now on the app and will take effect on Monday 17th November.
Our goal is to provide meals that are both tasty and nutritious, while continuing to comply with the guidance provided by the Department of Social Protection.
Attendance HERO Month
Please make sure you are here everyday, ready & on time! There will be rewards for
Best class and Most improved. The hole country is part of this campaign.
Remember
Encouraging school attendance is within the power of everyone in a student’s life. When a child or young person can go to school, they should go to school. Every school day is a new day and a new opportunity for everyone to actively encourage school attendance.
English Classes for Parents
English Classes for parents and carers will take place in school from 9:00 - 11:00 on the 19th and 26th November and 3rd and 10th December. These are taster sessions so you can meet the teacher and try it out. All levels are welcome. You can sign up with Kate, or just come along on the day.
