Coping with Stress during the Pandemic
Tips from Rachel Moore, Coweta County Lead Psychologist
Educators and other caregivers might be currently experiencing stress, anxiety and compassion fatigue as they are asked to do it all! In order to have the energy to support others we have to have the self care strategies to help manage those feelings effectively. Know how to relieve stress... you can manage and alleviate stress by taking the time to take care of yourself. If it is hard for you to spend the time to focus on yourself, remember that you learning these skills will naturally lead you to implement them in the classroom.
The Georgia DOE recognizes the importance of staff wellness and have developed modules to help increase these skills. Some of the basic ideas are to: eat healthy foods, drink water, get enough sleep and rest, get exercise, and avoid excessive amounts of caffeine and alcohol. These youtube videos are short videos that include: the basics, mindfulness (practice of purposely focusing your attention on the present moment - and accepting it without judgement), and sources of strength.

Join us in solidarity to stop bullying and cyberbullying! Make it the day that bullying prevention is heard around the world! By wearing a blue shirt, you’ll be using your voice and sending a message that this is the day that bullying prevention is heard around the world and in our Coweta County Schools.
