We can’t believe it’s already April, and we have only two full months left in the school year! While the weather is getting nicer and summer is quickly approaching, there is still a great deal of learning happening in our building each day.

Attendance remains extremely important to ensure your child has every opportunity to learn and grow in the classroom. Our goal each year is for students to have fewer than 10 absences. We allow up to 10 parent-excused absences per school year; after that, a medical note will be required.As a best practice, we encourage families to provide a doctor’s note whenever your child is absent for a medical reason.

Students in grades 3-5 will be participating in the Wisconsin Forward Exam during the testing starting April 7. State assessments, including the Forward Exam, are required by both Wisconsin State Law (Wis. Stat. § 118.30) and the Federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Our school is scheduled to administer the exam during this period. All testing will be done in the morning since we find students are more able to focus. Please try to schedule appointments around the testing if possible.

The Forward Exam assesses students in the following areas:

• Grades 3-5: English Language Arts (ELA) and Math

• Grade 4 only: Science and Social Studies

Just a friendly reminder that, for everyone’s safety and comfort, pets should not be brought onto school grounds or into school buildings. We love our furry friends, but we ask that they stay at home during school hours, arrival, dismissal and events. Thank you for helping us keep our school a safe and welcoming place for all! If you have not signed your child up for Aftercare here is the link to the Google Registration Form. If you have already signed up there is no need to sign up again. If in an event you no longer need the service please contact the front office.
