Madonna Catholic School News

June 12, 2026
Dear Families,
As we reflect on the Gospel message for this coming Sunday, we are reminded of how God’s grace works like a planted seed—growing steadily and miraculously, often in ways we cannot fully comprehend, until the beautiful harvest is ready. This is such a fitting reflection for us as a Catholic school community right now. Throughout the year, we have worked together to plant seeds of faith, kindness, and academic knowledge in our students, and it is a profound blessing to witness how much they have flourished.
As you know, the final weeks of June are always incredibly active in our hallways! We are currently busy navigating a full calendar of end-of-year activities, celebrations, and closing routines. However, amidst all this wonderful, bustling energy, our staff is also eagerly looking forward to next year and preparing for the next steps in your children's educational journey.
To help us all prepare for the fall, please keep a close eye on your inbox. Watch your email for that important update so you and your child know exactly what to expect when we return. Thank you for your continued partnership, prayers, and support as we bring this wonderful school year to a close.
Many blessings,
Fiona Wimmer, Assistant Principal
Cathy Hinger, Principal

FAITH INTEGRATION
Choir Preparing for Recording Session
Pictured above is a core group of our dedicated school choir who are happily singing through their lunch recess. They are working so hard to rehearse their favorite mass songs so that they can go to ABJ next week and use their recording equipment to create a permanent record of our songs. These will be used to support our September Opening Mass with ABJ on the Emerald Hills turf. Having the audio recording it will be a much higher quality sound coming through the PA system - you might hear our voices all around Emerald Hills! Thank you so much Mrs. Fortier for your leadership in this venture.
LEARNERS & LEARNING
Code Ninjas
This past week some of our Grade 2 and 3 classes had the opportunity to travel over Code Ninja's to apply some of their math and problem solving skills. They worked very hard with the staff and the parent volunteers to work on coding and game design skills. Later they also had a chance to work with Lego Robotics. Our grade 4 crew is going to Code Ninja's on Monday, June 15.
SYSTEMIC WELLNESS
Fit Set Ninja Obstacle Course
The Fit Set Ninja obstacle course is coming back to Madonna on Thursday, June 18. If your student attends school on that day they are scheduled to participate with their class. Please ensure the consent form has been signed and returned to your classroom teacher - it would have come home this week! Also, a reminder NO CROCS are allowed and lace up runners are best for the course.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Kinders and Grade 2N - Malvern Park Adventures
The ECS classes and grade 2's spent some time with one another this week travelling to a local park. This is another example of our school buddy program in action - older students supporting and leading younger children.
