Panorama Survey Information
August 7, 2023
Dear Perry Township Schools Parents,
Perry Township Schools (PTS) remains committed to the academic, social and emotional growth of all of our students. We are happy to announce that we will be utilizing a survey through Panorama Education to capture student voice and allow students to express their perspectives about self management, social awareness and their well-being.
The survey results will help PTS teachers, administrators and counselors gauge student growth and understanding around social and emotional competencies, which contribute to academic success and increase engagement in the classroom.
Our students in grades K-2 will be answering the Panorama survey with the help of a classroom teacher, and our students in grades 3-8 will answer questions on their own. All survey responses will take place at school. The survey will take about 20 minutes of their classroom time and provide our district with valuable information that will help us better meet the needs of our students.
We anticipate that we will begin survey administration on September 11. We will likely have all surveys completed by September 15, 2023. If a parent or guardian chooses to not have their child participate in the anonymous survey, they must contact their school office by September 1st. Please call at 317-789-3300 or email kwitkemper@perryschools.org to opt out of the survey.
If you would like to learn more about the Panorama survey, including the full set of questions that your child will be asked, please use this link.
Thank you for your continued support of our Perry Township Schools.
Sincerely,
Jon Romine

Kindness Week (September 11th- 15th)
To honor our mental health and encourage kindness and patience with one another, we are going to be celebrating kindness week. We are participating in Kindenss week to recognize National Suicide Prevention Week (9/10-9/16) and World Suicide Prevention Day (9/10), in an elementary friendly way.
Throughout the week, we will be talking about how everyone matters and belongs here and why it is important to be kind to one another. We will focus on being kind to our peers, our family, teachers, and ourselves. Each day students will be presented with a ‘kindness challenge” to help foster and grow our caring culture here at SES.
Students have either recently participated in/ or soon will participate in a bully prevention discussion. This presentation helps students understand the 3 criteria that classify actions as bullying:
The action must be intentionally mean
The action must be repeated
There must be an imbalance of power in the exchange
We want students to be able to recognize bullying when it is occurring and take steps to get help to ensure that it does not continue.
If you or any loved ones are struggling during this time here are some resources that can help.
