NMSHS PANTHER POST
October 27, 2023
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mr. Goodrich
Nederland Middle-Senior HS Community,
We have passed the 9-week mark of the school year. We have also had our parent-teacher conferences. At this time of the year, we like to reach out to parents about the school’s overall communication with parents. We strive to have quality communication with parents about the coming and goings here at school and all of the different activities and events that we have, but we know we are not perfect and we can always improve. So we are very much open to your comments and remarks regarding our effort to communicate with you, and where we may be falling short. Please let me know, or my assistant - Aimee Tomlinson, your feedback so we can find ways to make adjustments to our work delivering news and other important information to you about Ned Middle-Senior High School.
In addition to the Panther Post that is sent out every Friday we have several different types of communication:
Daily Announcements
Daily Attendance Calls When Students Are Not Present At School
Periodic Message From The School About Recent Events Of Importance
Student Missing Work Updates (weekly)
A Log Of All Of The Communication That Has Come From The School
Parents have many different choices regarding the ways they may receive information. You can choose your preferences to have email, text or voicemail messages sent from the school. Here is the link that will give you instructions on how to see and adjust your current communication preferences. School Messenger Preferences
As I mentioned above, we are not perfect, but we always want to be working toward continuous improvement when trying to communicate with parents. Please feel free to reach out to me or Aimee with your concerns and questions. gavan.goodrich@bvsd.org and aimee.tomlinson@bvsd.org

October is AP EXAM Registration time: Why take your AP course exam? AP on your high school transcript shows colleges that you are motivated to succeed, and taking the exam demonstrates your commitment to tackle and complete college-level work. Also, your AP score could earn you college credits and may let you skip introductory courses in college. It also relates to the Graduation Performance Measure requirement for graduation. We will talk about the AP exam process and how scores relate to college credit awards, and how to submit the results as you graduate. Also, we will discuss this year’s exam schedule and how to pay for your AP exams by October 31. High school students currently taking AP examinations, must register and pay for the exams on Revtrak, or by bringing $98 per exam to the counseling office and registering with Ms. Pries. A reduced fee applies in qualified situations, Deadline to make your payment is October 31. Check with your AP teacher to be prepped for your best exam!
