💫 Principal's Message💫

Dear GNBVT Community,

Hard to believe that September is already behind us and October is here. Before we fully dive into autumn, I want to highlight a few wonderful events from this past month. We honored our students who earned all A’s during Trimester 3 of Spring 2026 with a Principal’s List ceremony in the auditorium. We also celebrated our incredible transportation team during our annual Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, September 18th, while successfully completing our bus evacuation safety drill.

Student leadership was on full display at our first Student Council meeting on Tuesday, September 22nd. The meeting was exceptionally well attended, and our student leaders did a fantastic job running a smooth, productive session, covering major upcoming events like the homecoming theme, spirit week themes, and pep rally planning. Please keep an eye out for details from our Student Life Office regarding these exciting events.

Additionally, we held our first of five Student Wellness Committee meetings on Thursday, October 1st. Thank you to everyone who participated. We are eager to see the positive impact this committee will bring to our school community this year.

Just as the autumn air brings cooler temperatures, our classrooms are shifting focus from review to new, deeper learning experiences. As our students tackle these fresh concepts and build new skills, we encourage them to stay focused on their goals, work hard, and remain committed to excellence. Parents and guardians, thank you for continuing to partner with us in your child’s educational journey at GNBVT, together, we ensure their success.

Important October Scheduling Reminder: Please remember that we have four 1-hour delayed starts scheduled for Wednesdays this month on October 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th. An email containing specific details regarding adjusted schedules, bus pick-up procedures, and expectations was sent out earlier this week. Please refer to that message for full information. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Cold & Flu Season

Dear Families,
As we enter cold and flu season, we would like to remind families of the importance of keeping our school community healthy.
Please keep your child home if they are experiencing significant illness or have a fever. Students should be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school.
We also encourage students to:
Wash their hands frequently with soap and water.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their elbow.
Avoid sharing food, drinks, or personal items.
Stay home and rest when they are feeling unwell.
If your child misses several days of school due to illness, please contact their pediatrician or family physician regarding a doctor's note to excuse the absences. Thank you for helping us reduce the spread of illness and keep our students and staff healthy!

Important Reminder for Parents of Students with Life-Threatening Allergies

If your child has a life-threatening allergy and requires an EpiPen, please ensure the following steps are completed as soon as possible, if you haven’t already:

Submit a completed EpiPen packet for the current school year, including a signed doctor’s order.

Provide the school with a current, non-expired EpiPen to be kept in the health office.

The EpiPen packet is available on our website (https://files.smartsites.parentsquare.com/12443/life-threatening-allergy-packet.pdf), or your child can request a printed copy from the school.

If the required paperwork is not received, your child will not be permitted to participate in field trips, placements, co-op, or any other off-campus activities.
