Signed, Sealed, Deliveredβ¦ Iβm Yours! Our "Blind Date with a Book" event is sure to excite students!
This month we're sharing the more age appropriate activity title as "Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover" as students are invited to take a chance on a mystery read. The books are wrapped to keep the titles hidden, encouraging students to "don't judge a book by its cover" and explore new genres.
How it works: Students browse the wrapped book selection, pick a "date," and check-out the new read to enjoy at home and/or in the classroom. No peaking allowed!
π₯½ Help Us Build a Virtual Reality Experience in the LRC!
Our VR collection is a hit! To keep the momentum going, we are planning a VR Book Station for use during LRC visits and need your help! This new station gives students the chance to virtually immerse themselves in the topics they are reading about, exploring everything from deep oceans to distant planets right here in the LRC.
How you can help: We are looking for donations of old smartphones (iPhone or Android) to serve as the display screens for our VR headsets.
Safety & Security Note: We know that "phones in school" can be a concern, so please rest assured:
These devices will be wiped and used strictly as VR displays.
They will not have cellular service or be used for communication.
The devices will never leave the LRC.
If you have an old device gathering dust in a drawer, please consider dropping it off at the circulation desk!

YouTube Update
Elementary students cannot access YouTube as of June 2025. While this has its good points it may create a wrinkle in your teaching if you want students to utilize secondary video sources. If you have any questions or need support finding other options please reach out to Kristine. :)
Daily Sub Tech Capabilities
New this year, daily subs will use a chromebook issued from the LRC. These devices can connect to Vivi using classlink, however, daily subs do not have the ability to print.
They also do not have access to many Classlink and instructional apps. Please keep this in mind when you are planning an absence.
Below is a snapshot of what you're daily substitute will see in classlink.
