PARKER WEEKLY BULLETIN
Week of April 13th, 2026
Message from Principal Blagg
Good afternoon Parker Families:
We had another busy and fun filled week at Parker. Our sixth-grade students took the English/Language Arts portion of the MCAS this week. I am happy to report that the students worked diligently and gave their best efforts. It was evident that the students were well prepared by our fantastic teachers as seen in the organization and preparation they used prior to writing their essays. I am very proud of their efforts! Our fifth grade students will be taking the ELA MCAS on Monday and Tuesday April 13 and 14. Please be sure to have your child charge their device both Sunday and Monday night. It is also important for the students to have a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast so they are fueled up and ready to go!
Term 3 Report Cards
Term 3 report cards will be available to be viewed on the X2 Aspen Family portal on Thursday April 16. Please be sure to reach out to your child's teachers or counselor with any specific questions or concerns. As a reminder, the Grade 5 counselor is Dr. Autumn Dolan, and the Grade 6 counselor is Melissa MacIsaac. We have seen tremendous growth in our students as they have gained confidence, skills, and independence as the year has progressed.
Social Emotional Survey
We will be administering the Spring SEL survey to all our students on Wednesday April 15 during our SEL block. Chelmsford values input from our community, and we consider students as important partners to improve our communication, academic program and overall experience for our school communities. The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on the following content topics; Sense of Belonging, Supportive Relationships, Social Awareness, Self-Management and Emotion Regulation.
Have a great weekend everyone. Please reach out if you need support.
Warm regards,
Josh

CELL PHONE AND SMART WATCH USAGE
In order to provide a positive and engaging learning environment it is important that students are freed from unnecessary distractions. Cell phones and smart watches have proven to be a major distraction and source of anxiety and social drama for students.
If students need to contact home, they should see their teacher/administrator to receive permission to use the phone in the classroom or office. Conversely, if a parent needs to speak with a student, the parent should call the school office. All cell phones and/or smart watches should be off while in school. Any student using a cell phone and or smart watch while school is in session will have that cell phone and/or smart watch confiscated by administration. A first offense will lead to a warning and the administrator will return the phone to the student at the end of the day. Second and subsequent offenses will result in the phone being returned only to the parent and/or further disciplinary actions.
We would prefer that all cell phones and smart watches remain at home. If the cell phone and/or smart watch accompanies your child to school then please reinforce the expectation that they BOTH will be stored in their backpacks and powered down. Any communication with your child should be conducted through the main office or will be accessed after school has ended for the day. We appreciate your support for this policy. It is our experience that when freed from the pull of their phones and social media students are able to concentrate, be fully present, and be active participants in their education.
REMINDER-ALL DISMISSALS BEFORE 2:15 PM
REMINDER - PARKER MIDDLE SCHOOL HAS SET A 2:15 p.m. CUT-OFF TIME FOR ALL STUDENT DISMISSALS AS IT IS A CRITICAL SAFETY MEASURE THAT ENSURES A SECURE AND ORDERLY END TO THE SCHOOL DAY.
~THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION WITH THIS POLICY. Please contact the office with any questions or concerns.
