๐ฐ MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Maple Glen Families,
Car Line Reminder
We encourage parents to remain in their vehicles and allow children to exit on their own. Whenever possible, our staff will assist students exiting vehicles to ensure safety and efficiency. Please do not pass another vehicle in the car line unless directed by our staff.
Back to School Night
Our annual Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, September 18, from 6:00โ7:30 PM. This is an adult-only event. Teachers will present two identical sessions (Session #1 and Session #2) to accommodate families with children in multiple grade levels.
Please note that BTSN is not intended for individual conferences. Its purpose is to share information about your childโs teacher, our educational program, and services at MGES. If you have specific questions about your child, please reach out directly to their teacher.
Parent Volunteering
All current parent volunteers will receive an email from Jan Bonczkiewicz if your clearances have expired or will expire soon. Please visit the Volunteer Required Paperwork page for details on renewing or becoming a new volunteer. Volunteer documents must be submitted at least two weeks before your scheduled activity, and all documents should be sent together to Jan at jbonczki@udsd.org.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Go Chipmunks!
Warmly,
Nicolas Perez
Principal

๐กHIGHLIGHTS FROM THE GLEN
Honoring September 11th
On Thursday, fifth grade parent Mrs. Jill Fuller visited 5B to share her experience of the 9/11 attacks. As a high school senior near New York City, she recalled her memories of that day, along with those of her family. She also showed a video of her aunt, Ada Dolch, who was principal of a school directly across from the Twin Towers. Mr. Pestridgeโs class thanks Mrs. Fuller for helping them understand why that day is important to remember.
PBIS Kick-off Assembly
We kicked off the school year with our first assembly, setting the tone for a positive and inspiring year ahead. Our theme for this year is "Make Your Mark," inspired by The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. During the assembly, we welcomed our new students and staff members to our school community.
Mr. Laird also reviewed our Chipmunk P.R.I.D.E. expectations โ Positive, Respectful, Inclusive, Dependable, and Empathetic โ as we work together to make this year a success.
A special thank you to our PBIS team โ Mrs. Hamilton, Ms. Wengert, Mrs. Bell, Mrs. Winters,
Mr. Standen, Mr. Brittain, and Mr. Hopkins โ for their thoughtful planning and support in making this assembly a success.

Communication Pathways
To assist our community with directing questions and concerns to the appropriate person(s), UDSDโs Pathways of Communication helps identify points of contact on various matters. By following these procedures, we can streamline the process of answering questions, alleviating concerns, and foster greater collaboration within our community.
