A Note from Mr. Headrick
February : Friendship and Positive Communication
January gave us a strong start to the new year as students at Park Creek focused on goal setting and growth mindset. In classrooms, students practiced setting personal and academic goals, reflecting on progress, and learning that effort, perseverance, and mistakes are all part of learning. We talked often about when something feels hard, it doesnβt mean we canβt do it, it just means weβre still learning. This shared language helped students build confidence, take healthy risks, and develop resilience as they worked toward their goals.
As we move into February, our school-wide focus shifts to Friendship and Positive Communication. Students will learn and practice how to be kind, respectful, and empathetic in their words and actions. For example, during moments of disagreement or challenge, we can listen, encourage, and solve problems peacefully. By strengthening positive communication and friendships, we continue building a school community where every child feels safe, valued, and connected.

π Student Celebration Guidelines π
We love celebrating special moments with our students! Parents are welcome to send cupcakes or a small treat for the entire class to enjoy after lunch or recess in honor of their childβs birthday. To help us keep the day running smoothly, please coordinate with your childβs teacher in advance if you plan to send a birthday treat.
We kindly ask that you do not send balloons, large decorations, or party favors, as we are unable to accommodate these during the school day. While we do not hold birthday parties during instructional time, weβll be sure to make your child feel celebrated in a fun and meaningful way.
Thank you for partnering with us to create a joyful and focused learning environment!
