February 2023
A Note from the Principal:
We need your help! School attendance is crucial for your child's success inside and outside of school! Unless sick, we need your child at school on time, everyday. Please try to avoid tardies, check-ins and check-outs unless absolutely necessary. We have SO much learning to do from now until May--the countdown is on and every second counts! In an effort to improve school attendance, Forest Hills is implementing an attendance challenge: Attendance Everyday Wins (A.E.W.). See below for details.
Also, don't forget to send new blankets in now-February 16th. We want our students to learn how to support our community through this service learning project!
If you've heard your child mention the iReady Snowball Challenge, this is a competition between grade level classes to see which class can complete the most iReady lessons with an 80% or better now through February 23rd. For each lesson a student makes an 80% or better, he/she earns a snowball to display on their Snowball Chart. iReady is available as a free resource at home, but only lessons completed during the school day will count towards this challenge. The class from each grade level with the most snowballs will win Cocoa & Kona!
Thank you to all those who participated in our Coupon Book Fundraiser--the fundraiser was a huge success. Without your support, our school would not be the special place it is--THANK YOU!
Spring testing including benchmarks, iReady Diagnostics, and ACAP (2nd-4th only) are on the horizon. Please mark your calendars now--dates are listed at the end of this newsletter.
If I can ever be of assistance to you, please reach out or stop by the office!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fowler, Principal
