MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Franklin Students and Families,
It’s incredible that we are two weeks away from winter break. I want to remind everyone how important it is to be at school everyday and especially before break. We love seeing your smiling faces in the building! Currently, FHS has a year to date attendance rate of 88%. We would love to get to 90%! If you are wondering what your personal attendance rate is right now you can click on this link and look for the last 4 digits of your student ID number. These 2 weeks are so important because when we get back from winter break you will only have 2 weeks before finals and the end of the first semester.
As you all know, at the start of the school year we implemented the use of Yondr pouches. We have seen great success with student engagement in the classroom and fostering student connections. Our goal has always been to build a sense of belonging in the building, and part of that involves disconnecting from personal devices to support this environment.
We understand that using Yondr pouches can be challenging. Our staff has greeted students every morning, reminding them of these expectations since the start of the school year. Recently, we have noticed creative ways students are using Yondr pouches, such as storing calculators, burner phones, or phone cases inside them instead of their phone. We have also seen the increased use of personal devices in classrooms and our bathrooms.
As stated in the school cell phone policy, a second violation will result in the personal electronic device being held until a parent or guardian comes to school to pick it up. Thank you for helping us to foster a socially and academically engaging environment here at Franklin High School.
In addition, winter season sports are underway. Come out to support our cheer, basketball, wrestling, and swim teams. The annual Winter Dance performance is next Friday and Saturday, December 12th and 13th.
Have a great weekend!
Dr. Z

All FHS staff are eligible to be nominated (teachers, administrators, office staff, paraeducators, custodial & cafeteria staff, nurses, you name it!). ATHLETICS
NEW: PIL Spectator Policy
We are excited to kick off the Winter Sports Season . Below are a few reminders for our spectators for this upcoming season.
No Large Bags: At no time are large bags/backpacks allowed inside the facility while attending events on PPS property. This rule does not apply at park fields. Some school sites will be able to offer a bag check, while others, due to site location and other factors will not. Please be prepared for both options as you travel through league games this year. In the preseason, many other conferences also have this policy and without a bag check option.
Admission: We will be charging admission for wrestling, along with boys and girls basketball. We will start charging one hour before the varsity contest. Middle school and elementary school students will not be admitted without a parent or guardian
- Wrestling Ticket Prices: Adults $7, Students $5
- Boys and Girls Basketball Ticket Prices: Adults $7, Students $5
- Swim: No Charge
PIL Winter Sports Pass: Gofan.com
No Outside Food: Outside food or drink will not be allowed at our athletic contests. Some sites will have
concession stands open for food purchases.
No Re-Entry: Once a person enters the game, we are not allowing anyone to leave the event and return.
This policy is for both students and adults.
Spectator Conduct: It is of the utmost importance that we conduct with the highest level of
sportsmanship towards visiting schools, athletes, fans, and officials. The PIL is seeking to provide the best experience possible for everyone that attends our athletic contests. What makes these events fun and enriches those participating is when all of us do our part regardless of the outcome. Should any concerns arise, please seek out event workers, administration, or security personnel to help resolve any concerns. We appreciate your support in advance when attending athletic events.
We are looking forward to seeing you in the stands this year!
