  • Our field trip to Pokagon was wonderful. Students were able to hike, tour the nature center and participate in a program! Thanks to everyone who provided donations so that our students could have this field trip!
  • The spring NWEA testing window opens mid-April, please encourage your child to do his or her best.
  • We have a very busy last two months of school. We have field trips, field day, picnic in the park and kindergarten graduation just to mention a few of the activities. Additionally, on April 19 we are hosting donuts with grown ups please read below for more information.

Donuts With Grown-Ups April 19, 2024

Thank you to those of you who are planning to come in and eat donuts. On Tuesday, we placed an order with Freakin' Sweets for 360 donuts. Our plan for the event will be to have families check in and pick up the donuts they ordered. This will all occur in the lobby. Students can take families to their classrooms to eat their donuts while they check out the classroom. Grown-ups are free to go when they finish eating. Students can head out to the playground. We plan to start the event at 7:30 A.M. We hope to wrap it up by the time the bell rings at 8:25 A.M. When the bell rings, students will start their day. We are still serving the regular free school breakfast that morning.

No school for Kindergarten Students on May 10.

On May 10, our kindergarten teachers will be completing assessments on our incoming kindergarten students so there will not be school that day for our kindergarten students only.

Incoming Kindergarten Assessments

On May 10, we will be assessing our incoming kindergarten students. On this day our current Kindergarten students will not have schoo so that our incoming kindergarten students can meet with their future kindergarten teachers. l. Additionally, on May 10, assessment day, we will host the health department and Smiles On Wheels. They will be here to provide the state mandated vision, hearing and dental screenings to our incoming kindergarten students at no cost to our families. Students will complete their assessment with the kindergarten teacher and, if desired, parents can choose to also complete the state mandated screenings. Parents not interested in completing these screening are more than welcome to pay their family doctor and dentist to complete these screenings at another time.

Reminders

As we make our way through the last two months of school we ask that you remind your child or children to continue to work hard and do their best at school. We have also noticed an increase in student behaviors so a behavior reminder might also be a good thing.
