Emerson Elementary October 7, 2026
Happy October, Emerson Families!
We have had a wonderful start to the school year! Classrooms are full of learning, our routines are taking shape, and it has been exciting to see students building relationships, growing in confidence, and settling into their school community.
As we move into October, our focus continues to be on creating classrooms where every student feels known, valued, challenged, and supported. Our teachers are working together each week to look closely at student learning, celebrate growth, and identify the next steps that will help each child be successful. We know that strong learning begins with strong relationships and we want every student to know that they belong at Emerson.
October is also a great time to reinforce strong school habits. Daily attendance matters! Each day at school gives students another opportunity to learn, connect with their classmates and teachers, and build on the learning from the day before. Thank you for helping your child arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day.
We are especially grateful for the partnership of our families. Whether you attend a school event, connect with your child's teacher, participate in PTA, Natural Leaders, or our Dual Language Parent Advisory Committee, or simply ask your child about their day, you are an important part of our Emerson community.
As we move further into the year, encourage your child to share not only what they are learning, but also how they are learning. Ask them: What are you proud of? What was challenging? What strategy helped you? What is something you are working to improve? These conversations help our students see themselves as capable learners who can continue to grow.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being our partners in their learning. We are looking forward to a wonderful October together.
Believe. Achieve. Together.
With appreciation,
Blythe Young
Principal

📚 Attendance Matters!
We look forward to seeing your child at school every day! Regular school attendance is an important part of your child’s success. When students are at school consistently, they have more opportunities to learn, grow, and be part of our Emerson community.
If your child is absent, please remember to report the absence within 5 school days.
📧 Email: emeattendance@everettsd.org
If email is not possible, please send a written note to the school office within 5 school days of the absence. You may leave a detailed message on our attendance line at 425-385-6205. Please remember to include your child's first name, last name, student id, date of absence, and reason for the absence. The message must be left within the 5-day timeframe.
Please note: Absences that are not excused within the 5-school-day reporting window will not be changed after the 5 days have passed. They will be coded as "Unexcused".
Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s attendance and success. We appreciate your help in making sure our little Falcons are here, ready to learn, and growing every day! 🖤❤️
