Check out Wakelet

Wakelet is a powerful tool that enables teachers and students to easily collect articles, videos, images, tweets and more to privately save and edit later. Teachers can create beautiful collections by adding images and text to custom ordered artifacts. Collections can be kept private, or they can be shared with the world. They can also be embedded in a website.

Wakelet is awesome for student portfolios, current affairs, research source collection, or presentations. The possibilities for using Wakelet in the classroom are virtually unlimited. Teachers can create hand-picked sources for student use when doing research, or students can curate their own sources. Students can also create stunning digital portfolios to house and display work. Wakelet is also great for digital storytelling and class newsletters. If you would like to learn more about Wakelet and how you can use it in your classroom, contact your friendly IT today.

Mute Assignments

By default, Canvas allows students to see assignment grades as soon as you have graded the assignment. In some cases, however, you may wish to hold student grades until all assignments have been graded, and then release grades to all students at the same time. To hide student grades temporarily:

  • Open SpeedGrader
  • Click on the Mute icon
  • Confirm mute assignment
That's it. In student view, the mute icon will appear next to the title of the muted assignment on the grades page.

Pin your people

You can now pin your closest contacts to your task bar the same way you would your most-used apps. Just tap on the people icon, and at the bottom of the pop-up box will be an option to find and pin contacts to your taskbar. Don't see any contacts? Click the Apps tab at the top of the box to connect your Mail app, Skype, or other apps and import your contacts to set up the equivalent of speed dial icons right on your Windows 10 task bar.
