Adjusted Start Times For First Day of School
To help ease the flow of traffic on the first day of school, our start times will follow an adjusted schedule. Please see the graphic, above.
Start Times for Regular School Days - Starting Thursday, August 14, 2025
🚨🚨Traffic On the First Day of School: PLEASE READ - VERY IMPORTANT!🚨🚨
The first day of school in SISD is typically a very fun and busy around SISD campuses! However, please understand that traffic on the first day of school is extremely heavy.
In fact, for the first two-three weeks of school, you can expect traffic to be heavier and pick-lines to be longer than they typically are during the rest of the year. THIS IS NORMAL. Once students begin riding buses more and routines are more settled, traffic will lessen and pick-up lines will shorten. This happens each an every year and we assure you, it's all very routine in SISD.
🚨🚨IMPORTANT:🚨🚨
EXPECT EXTRA TRAFFIC SLOW DOWNS TOMORROW DUE TO CONSTRUCTION.
Trophy Nissan Lane, which runs between Tripp Road and Raider Drive (between Raider Stadium and the administration gym) is closed due to construction; there is no exit to Tripp Road.
🚨TRAFFIC MAY ALSO BE SLOW NEAR THE ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL DUE TO SPECIAL EVENTS🚨
SENIOR PARENTS ATTENDING THE SENIOR WALK
Senior parents may wish to park in the area designated as "temporary parking" in the above map. Please read more about parking, below.
PARKING ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
We hope providing some relief in the from of extra parking space for those who choose to drop off students that morning will help make your first day the best ever. Please see the above map and note the temporary parking on the north side of the high school, which is available to anyone who needs it. Also, be sure to check out our flow of traffic so that everyone is commuting around campuses in the right direction.
🚨Also, please note:🚨
🚨Parking in fire lanes is prohibited - SISD buses must be able to pass.🚨
🚨Do not park on corners - SISD buses must be able to safely make turns.🚨
🚨Be mindful of student walkers and bike riders. It's a busy morning and we need everyone paying close attention to their surroundings.🚨
🚨Please, do not speed.🚨
We also ask that if one of our School Resource Officers or Safety and Security Personnel ask you to park in another area or kindly remind you of one of the above safety notes, please be kind and adhere to their request.
We're all in this together!

Beginning August 13, 2025, students will not be allowed to use personal communication devices during the instructional day, from the first bell to the last bell. All personal devices must be turned off and put away.

Senior Walk
We will be having our Senior Walk on August 13, 2025 beginning at 9:45 AM.
1. Parents will be allowed into the building beginning at 9:00 AM. Parents, please make your way to the gym and wait in the stands until we are ready to begin the walk. Once we are ready, you will move into the hallway outside of the gym and wait for your senior.
2. Seniors, please report to your first period and wait there until an announcement is made to dismiss you to the auditorium. Seniors should be seated in the auditorium by 9:30. Seniors with late arrival should report to the auditorium at this time as well.
3. We will begin the route from the Hall of Honor and end there as well.
3. Once the walk is completed, you will be given time to take pictures with your family and friends. Please keep in mind that time is limited, so be sure to make the most of this time.
4. Seniors will then report to their second period in a timely manner.
Please be sure all your back-to-school forms are completed.
Remember! The start times go back to their typical times on Thursday, August 14th. The first bell will ring at 8:10 a.m. on Thursday.
First day of school times will be altered to allow for smoother traffic flow. Doors will open at 7:50 a.m., first bell at 8:00 a.m., and tardy bell at 8:10 a.m. Starting on Thursday, 8/14/25 we will have regular arrival times: doors open at 7:25 a.m., first bell at 7:35 a.m. and tardy bell at 7:45 a.m. Students arriving after that time must check in at the front office.
The first few days, 8/13/25 - 8/15/25 we will have closed lunch. This will allow us time to go over lunch procedures with our students.
Dismissal: If your child is a car rider, please have your car sign visible from the windshield.
Morning drop-off will be at the back of the school. Parents will need to stay in their cars and pull up to the unloading cones where a teacher will assist unloading your child.
