Deer Run Newsletter

Deer Run Families,
We had a busy and exciting last week of school for 2025! Students enjoyed watching a movie on the big screen and celebrating during their winter parties. It was a wonderful way to wrap up the year together.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to our PTO and all of our parents for your support in making this week’s events so special.
As we wrap up 2025, I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you for your ongoing support throughout the year. Your partnership, involvement, and encouragement have made a tremendous impact on our students, staff, and school community.
Wishing you and your family a joyful holiday season and a wonderful New Year. May this time be filled with rest, celebration, and meaningful moments together.
We look forward to an exciting year ahead in 2026!

Taekwondo Kids
Confidence & Focus is a 5-session after-school character development program for students in Grades 1–5. The course introduces basic Taekwondo skills while teaching focus, respect, self-control, and perseverance. Limited to 25 students. Register at: https://shorturl.at/yyftT. Flyers were sent home with students this week.
Dismissal Changes
In the event of an emergency and the need to change a student's dismissal method be sure to send an email to the classroom teacher AND the attendance email (Dres_attendance@dublinschools.net). Teachers are extremely busy during the school day, therefore, it is not guaranteed that the teacher would have time to review the parent email prior to dismissal. Be sure to submit changes as early as possible to increase the likelihood that the communication will be received by our school team prior to dismissal.
Student Car Drop Off and Pick Up
As a reminder, car drop off and pick up for all students should take place at the back door of the school. Last school year, students were being dropped off at Grizzell, in the school parking lot, and in the neighborhood adjacent to the school. We want to ensure that all of our students are safely dropped off at school, therefore only the backdoor area should be used. Also, we also want to be considerate of our neighbors that live in the homes adjacent to the school. Therefore, adhering to this guidelines is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Winter Break is Here
Today marks the end of the first semester and the beginning of winter break. We hope you have a great break, filled with special moments. We can’t wait to see everyone back at school on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Calling All Dublin City Schools Superstars
Do you have a student who lights up in front of a camera? A child who loves their school, loves this community, and would proudly help represent Dublin City Schools? We’re inviting students from all 25 schools — across all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in PK–12 — to be part of the All In Dublin Schools campaign. These photos and videos will highlight the people who make our district exceptional.
Participation is voluntary, and there is no compensation for being involved. Families who submit the interest form will receive the scheduled date and time for the All In Dublin Schools photo and video session via email. More information will be sent to families in January. If your student would enjoy being a face of Dublin City Schools, please complete this form to express interest: DCS Brand Ambassadors Interest Form
Winter Registration Open for After School Activities
Although Winter break is just starting, we all know how quickly it passes and students will return to school before we know it. Don’t let your child miss out on a great after school enrichment opportunity. Classes with too few students may be canceled, so register early. Visit the After School Activities page to discover programs your child will love.
