Hello Woodstock Family!
Hope your long weekend was as restful or productive as you wanted it to be.
Today, February 17th brings the year of the horse and the start of Lunar New Year. Woodstock Elementary celebrates this important holiday together as a neighborhood school and Mandarin Immersion Program. Today's cultural meal (if you have RSVP'd) kicks off events with a chance to share a dumpling meal with your child in the cafeteria. On Friday everyone is welcome to the Lunar New Year Celebration in the cafeteria from 5:30–7:30 pm hosted by Shu Ren. These events can only happen with help from the community so please see below for volunteer needs.
In PTA news, funding proposals are due TODAY by 11:59 pm! We're looking forward to presenting this year's proposals for voting next Monday the 23rd at the general PTA meeting. Remember, you have to be a member to participate. Hope you have a good week.

- A Birds of Prey Assembly
- Resources for teachers in addition to their yearly funds from the PTA

Volunteer With Us!
Volunteer at the PTA Clothing Closet! Monday 3/16/26
Every year, each PPS school sends volunteers to staff the Clothing Closet at the Marshall Campus. Volunteers will help students shop and find clothes that make them feel good or they will sort donations and organize the shop.
Help the Front Office with Tardy Student Check-Ins
The front office is looking for some help with check ins for students coming in late. Colder and wetter weather seems to bring more late arrivals! Please sign up if you can help.
Kinder Connect Info Sessions – February 24 at 8am and 6pm*
Please help us spread the word with friends, neighbors, preschools, and anyone else who may have a future kindergartner! Enrollment is down across the board, so getting more students registered = more resources and funding for all students and staff at Woodstock.

Woodstock Wildfire Ultimate Frisbee Team
Is your child interested in learning a new sport? Or maybe they have tried the afterschool Ultimate Frisbee program and are looking for more opportunities to play? Registration is now open for Portland Ultimate Frisbee Youth Spring league. This is for 3-5th graders.
This is different than the Afterschool program, and rather similar to other sports leagues that involve weekly team practice and weekend games against other teams in the league.
Wildfire Practices will be Thursdays right after school at Woodstock Elementary from 2:30-4:30pm starting April 9th.
Game Dates: Sundays, April 12 – June 7 (No league May 24)
Time: 10 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Lents Park (Permit Pending)
Format: 5v5 ultimate. 2 games per week (Sundays).
