RMS families,

THANK YOU for an amazing year with your student(s)! We recognize it was a year full of transitions, and feel like with your support, students were able to get back in the swing of “doing school!” As a staff, we reflected on all the systems in place to support students and will continue to work to improve the academic and social emotional learning experiences for our middle school students! As the year comes to a close I want to share with you some staff changes, staff who will be missed as they take the next step in their professional journey:

A couple of items still in the works:

• We will learn June 21 if our new name is approved by the St. Paul Board of Education. See Villager article.
• We will continue to be working on the design for the building renovation, which is not set to begin until after next school year.
• We are looking to revise our personal electronics policy for next school year, please complete the survey below.

Please watch for communications to resume in August with updates important to students returning!

It is not too late to sign your student up for summer school, do so by calling 651-632-3764 you do not need to complete an online or paper registration.

Any student is eligible to attend these programs. For more information about those programs go to spps.org/summer.

AVID eighth graders celebrated two years of hard work and college-preparation by going on a final field trip on Wednesday, June 1. The students enjoyed learning how to ride the public bus, which took them to the University of St. Thomas. Students enjoyed a private party in the student center which included bowling, playing pool and ping-pong, trying out the arcade, and eating lots of food! Students in AVID have worked hard to build skills to prepare them for college. We will miss our 8th graders and wish them luck in high school!

6th and 7th grade students built their own boats out of materials earlier this week that they had to “budget” for, and then put their boat to the test yesterday by adding penny “cargo”!

ALL Ramsey students are invited to participate in a summer debate camp at Augsburg University through the MN Urban Debate League. Summer camps run for one week and students build skills while having fun and learning more about the foundations of debate. We still have spots for this summer Flipside camps! We are offering 4 weeks of field trip based camps where you can explore rock climbing, ropes courses, archery and so much more! There will be 2 weeks of Flipside classes where you can learn new skills like photography, dancing, drones! Dates are July 11-August 19, Monday-Thursdays 9-4pm Sign up below!
