The final days of the school year are some of the most memorable at The Lake as we celebrate accomplishments, honor traditions, and look ahead to new beginnings.
On Thursday, we kicked off our Pep Rally by celebrating Springton Lake's redesignation as a Pennsylvania School to Watch of excellence. This marks our fourth designation, a distinction shared by only 37 middle schools in Pennsylvania. Later this month, a team from SLMS will travel to Washington, D.C., where they will be recognized at the National Schools to Watch Conference.
Our 8th grade students are entering an exciting season as they prepare for high school. We look forward to celebrating them, especially at tonight's Farewell Dance, and 8th Grade Recognition on June 11. A special thank you to our PTG, which has worked tirelessly to make this event memorable for our students. We can't wait to see everyone at 6:30 p.m. Students should enter and exit through the Spartan Café.
June 8 will feature two student favorites: our Mega Prize Table, where students can redeem Spartan Bucks earned for demonstrating the 4Rs, and Yearbook Party, when students can celebrate and reflect on a great school year.
Sincerely,
Ryan Buterbaugh
Principal

Celebrating Our 8th Grade Students
Promotion
The 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony is Thursday, June 11th, starting at 8:30 AM. Please keep in mind that there is a strict limit of two adult guests from each household. This is due to limited seating and space. We will also livestream the ceremony for extended family to view online. Please look for a specific communication from me with additional details early next week.
Spartan Bucks - Mega Prize Table
Our final opportunity of the school year for our students to redeem their Spartan Bucks will take place on Monday, June 8th. Each team will have a chance to visit the "Mega Prize Table" that afternoon. Students earn Spartan Bucks from their teachers and other school staff when they demonstrate the 4Rs - Ready, Respectful, Responsible, & Resilient.
Yearbook Day is Monday June 8
Preordered yearbooks will be delivered to students in homeroom on Monday, June 8. We will have a few extra yearbooks for sale in homeroom. If your child would like to purchase a yearbook please send in $30 cash or check made out to RTMSD.
Last Day of School and Report Cards - June 12
The last day of school for the year is next Friday, June 12th. Dismissal will be at 11:00 AM.
Teachers will begin to finalize 4th marking period and final grades starting on Monday. We anticipate publishing student report cards by late afternoon Friday, June 12.
Student Lunch Accounts
As we get closer to the end of the school year, we are asking for your help to resolve any outstanding balances on your child's lunch account. Funds may be added electronically online or by cash or check in the cafeteria. Any funds remaining in your child's account at the end of the school year will rollover to the next school year. We appreciate your cooperation!
Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.
Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
