Brief Message From the Principal

Dear Students, Families, and Community,

Welcome back to another exciting school year at Hansen Junior/Senior High School!

I hope each of you had a wonderful summer filled with opportunities to relax, spend time with family and friends, and make lasting memories. Taking time to recharge is so important, and I hope you are returning refreshed and ready for the year ahead. My family and I enjoyed spending time together in the mountains, barbecuing, relaxing by the pool, and simply appreciating the slower pace of summer. It was exactly what we needed before another busy school year.

While our students were enjoying their break, our staff was hard at work preparing for another successful year. We began the summer with professional learning alongside Breez Daniels as we continue strengthening our PLC process. This work allows our teachers to collaborate, refine instructional practices, and ensure every student has access to high-quality, grade-level learning. The excitement among our staff is contagious, and I'm incredibly proud of their commitment to continuous improvement and their belief that every student can learn and succeed.

Our staff also continued training in PBIS. Last year, we saw tremendous growth in our school culture and student behavior, and we are committed to building on that success. By strengthening our supports and maintaining high expectations, we are creating a school where every student feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed.

As we begin this new year, I am excited to see our hallways filled with students once again. I look forward to celebrating achievements, creating new traditions and continuing our old ones, strengthening relationships, and continuing to build a school culture where students are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Hansen Junior/Senior High School. Together, I know we will make the 2026–2027 school year our best yet.

Have a wonderful start to the school year, and as always... GO HUSKIES!

Welcome Ms. Perkins

We are excited to welcome Ms. Perkins to the Hansen Junior/Senior High School family this year! Ms. Perkins will be teaching 7th Grade Geography, U.S. History II, and two new elective courses, Codebreakers & Spies in History and History's Mysteries. Ms. Perkins is excited to become part of the Hansen community and is looking forward to building strong relationships with students and families. She brings great enthusiasm for history and learning and is eager to create engaging, hands-on classroom experiences that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of discovering the past. 2025-2026 Principal's List & Honors Roll

One of the greatest accomplishments we celebrate each year is the academic success of our students. Throughout the 2025–2026 school year, many of our students demonstrated exceptional dedication, perseverance, and commitment to their education by earning placement on the Principal's List or Honor Roll during the first semester, second semester, or both.

These recognitions represent far more than grades. They reflect the countless hours spent studying, completing assignments, asking questions, overcoming challenges, and striving for excellence each day. Achieving this level of academic success requires consistency, responsibility, and a strong work ethic, and our students should be incredibly proud of what they have accomplished.

We also extend our appreciation to the parents, families, and teachers who have encouraged and supported these students throughout the year. Student success is truly a partnership, and these achievements are a testament to the dedication of our entire Hansen school community. Congratulations to all of our students who earned Principal's List or Honor Roll recognition. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed, and we look forward to celebrating your continued success throughout the coming school year!

Rise in GPA Overtime

Over the past four years, Hansen Junior/Senior High School has experienced a steady upward trend in our overall student GPA. This growth reflects the hard work and perseverance of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the strong support of our families. It is encouraging to see more students striving for academic excellence while continuing to raise the bar for themselves and their classmates.

This positive trend is not the result of one initiative alone. It represents a collective commitment to high expectations, meaningful learning, and providing students with the support they need to succeed. Through collaboration, targeted interventions, and a focus on helping every student master grade-level standards, we continue to strengthen both student achievement and confidence in the classroom.

While we are proud of the progress we have made, we know there is still more to accomplish. As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we remain committed to continuous improvement and ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their goals. We look forward to building on this momentum and celebrating even greater academic success in the years ahead.
