Non-negotiable Technology & Instructional Expectations
AFM Instructional Expectations
Technology is a tool to enhance learning, not to replace high-quality instruction.
-
All lessons must use high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) aligned to the standard, learning intention, and success criteria.
-
Projects and performance tasks require a rubric that clearly communicates expectations for mastery.
-
Small-group instruction is required daily to provide targeted support and differentiation. All departments MUST conduct small group twice per week.
-
Aggressive monitoring must be evident during independent practice to check for understanding and provide immediate feedback.
-
Instruction must reflect Teacher Clarity, students should always know:
-
What they are learning
-
Why it matters
-
How they will know they’ve mastered it
-
Let’s remain consistent in our commitment to high expectations, clarity, and academic excellence.
