Mr. Mauck's Musings
JHS Weekly Newsletter the Sunday edition. I apologize for getting the newsletter out late this week.
Friday was the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. We commemorated the day with a moment of silence and a video during CCD class. It is important for our students to understand our history and show respect for those who lost their lives and those who gave their lives in support of others.
Wednesday, September 16th will be a professional development day for staff and students will not be in school. Congratulations to Brody Haaff and Mrs. Stephanie Jackman-Burns this week's student and staff of the week selections. Mrs. Burns has some great activities going on in the Library. She has outlined them in the Book Banter section. The Marching Wildcats earned a first place finish at Paoli on Saturday. They will get a good test at North with Saturday, as we continue to improve the show. Please take a minute to review the information from our Student Academic Services section.
The JHS Student Council has been busy. This week they hosted the fall pep session. We had tons of activities as we celebrated our students involved in activities this fall. Our athletic teams are on a roll and the Band and Color Guard have started the season strong. The Performing Arts Club (PAC) will be performing Little Shop of Horrors. We have our clubs getting organized and beginning activities. All of these student groups were recognized on Thursday. StuCo had hallway decorating for homecoming week today. Tomorrow will be Hawaiian dress-up and we will be voting on the hall decorations. Mrs. Ferguson and Ms. Henke will have activities all week, culminating in the homecoming court and backdrop competitions on Friday. We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the football game on Friday.
Have a wonderful weekend and Go Cats!

Wildcat Corner
Jasper High School is fortunate to have a school-based enterprise (SBE), our school store. SBEs are managed and operated by students as hands-on learning laboratories that integrate standards in marketing, finance, hospitality, human resources, and management. SBEs provide realistic and practical learning experiences that reinforce classroom instruction. The Wildcat Corner is a major learning component in the Business Program. The teacher and coordinator for this program is Mrs. Jessica Mehringer.
The success of the Wildcat Corner depends on the commitment of students in the Small Business and Business Administration Capstone classes as these students are responsible for working in the school store as part of their work based learning experience.
