Principal's Message
Greetings, Lions family!
Loris High School is off to an exciting and successful start to the fall semester! Our recent state report card results are very encouraging. With continued effort and support, our school is poised to continue advancing toward an excellent rating. Our teachers are participating in professional development to enhance their knowledge base and are working tirelessly to refine lessons, implement effective strategies, and ensure that every student continues to grow and succeed—especially as we focus on improving End-of-Course (EOC) scores this semester. Additionally, we are excited to continue implementing #RiseWithReading time, as part of Superintendent Jones' reading initiative.
All of our fall sports teams, including football, volleyball, cross country, girls’ tennis, and cheer, are demonstrating outstanding effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship as they continue to represent LHS with excellence. Two of our varsity football players have been invited to participate in postseason activities. Jeffrey Williams has been selected to play in the Shrine Bowl and Makel “Deuce” Stephens has been selected to play in the Touchstone Cooperatives Bowl North-South Game. Makel is poised to break a school record currently held by yours truly.
We’re excited to invite our families to join us for the Trunk or Treat event on October 22nd from 4:30-6:30 pm, hosted at Loris Middle School. This is a fun opportunity for our community to come together for an evening of fun and celebration. Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and school.
Sincerely,
Jimmy McCullough
Principal

Advice To Students
My advice to current students is to never be afraid to dream big and believe in yourself. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn, grow, and challenge yourself. You will make mistakes along the way, but those moments can teach you some of life’s most important lessons. Surround yourself with people who encourage you, work hard even when no one is watching, and always treat others with kindness and respect. Most importantly, remember that your path may not look like everyone else’s—and that’s okay. Stay true to yourself and trust that the hard work you put in today will help shape the person you become tomorrow.
