Hall Star Shine Weekly
News & Updates for the Hall Star Nation
Our 3rd and 4th graders are diving into Dr. Gholdy Muhammad’s Genius & Joy curriculum, a powerful approach that blends literacy, writing, and social-emotional learning. Students explore their own brilliance while building skills that nurture identity, critical thinking, and creativity.
In our Makerspace, students become inventors, problem-solvers, and creators as they bring their ideas to life through hands-on exploration. This special space sparks curiosity, collaboration, and creativity while connecting to real-world STEM learning.
Wellness Policy Reminder | Birthday Treats Policy
At Hall STEM Academy, birthdays are recognized and celebrated in ways that honor students without the expectation of bringing food to school. In accordance with Minneapolis Public Schools’ Wellness Policy, sugary treats such as cupcakes, candy, chips, and soda are not allowed. If families choose to provide a snack, it must align with healthy options that support student wellness.

Wednesday, October 8th | 1:00 PM
Minneapolis Public Schools will be celebrating Walk, Bike, & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 8th and all school sites are encouraged to participate in ways that promote wellness and foster community connectedness.
At Hall STEM Academy, we will come together by walking three times around the block surrounding our school...a symbolic gesture representing wholeness, unity, and strength within our school community. Following the walk, we will hold a small celebration on the blacktop to recognize our shared commitment to student wellness, safety, and togetherness.
To show our school spirit and solidarity, everyone is encouraged to wear their Hall Spirit Wear. Let’s make this a memorable day where we uplift one another and celebrate movement as a community.
Additionally, Ms. Stewart will be inviting city and district leaders to join us in this meaningful initiative. Their presence will further highlight the critical role we all play in supporting the health and well-being of our students.
