Deer Run Back to School Newsletter
Friday, August 15, 2025
Deer Run Families,
Our staff officially started back this week to prepare for the students! We are thrilled to share that our team has been busy setting up classrooms and ensuring that everything is ready for a successful year. The enthusiasm among our staff is contagious, and we cannot wait to welcome your children back!
Parents of newly enrolled students should have received an email inviting them to our New Student Orientation on Monday at 1:30 PM. We are excited to welcome our new families!
We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday from 2 - 3 PM for our Meet the Teacher Event. This is a great opportunity to connect with teachers and see your child's classroom. Our PTO will be providing students with Italian ice on the playground after they finish in their classrooms.
We look forward to the first official day of school next Tuesday, August 19!
As we transition into another year, we encourage families to reach out with any questions or concerns. Your feedback is invaluable, and together, we can create the best environment for our students.
Looking forward to another awesome year for our students!
Dr. Robinson

Kindergarten First Day Information
Kindergarten students will have phase-in days to start the school year. Kindergarten students will be phased in on Tuesday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 20. Students with last names that begin with A - L will attend school on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 and students with last names that begin with M- Z will attend school on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. All Kindergarten students will attend school on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Student Drop Off and Pick Up
As a reminder, drop off and pick up for all students should take place at the back door of the school. Last school year, students were being dropped off at Grizzell, in the school parking lot, and in the neighborhood adjacent to the school. We want to ensure that all of our students are safely dropped off at school, therefore only the backdoor area should be used. Also, we also want to be considerate of our neighbors that live in the homes adjacent to the school. Therefore, adhering to this guidelines is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We are excited to have our PTO Sponsored Back to School Bash on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5 - 7 PM.

High School Redistricting Public Information Session August 26 Join us on Tuesday, August 26, from 7–8 p.m. for a Zoom webinar offering an inside look at how Cropper GIS will use data to create new maps that balance student populations across Dublin City Schools’ three high schools. Superintendent Dr. John Marschhausen and Matt Cropper will walk through the process, tools, and terminology (such as “planning blocks”) used in a redistricting study, showing how factors like enrollment trends, feeder patterns, transportation, and future growth are analyzed before any draft boundaries are created. While specific boundary changes will not be presented, leaders will answer pre-submitted questions about the process and next steps. Use this form to submit questions by August 22. The Zoom link will be shared on the district website the morning of the event. Get Text Alerts from Dublin City Schools On occasion, Dublin City Schools may need to send you a text message. These texts, straight to your mobile phone, could include important event information, school closings, safety alerts and more! ACTION REQUIRED! Time for Annual Updates!
On August 1, families will receive an email with instructions to complete the 2025–2026 Annual Update in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This required process allows parents and guardians to confirm or update important information—including home address, phone numbers, emergency contacts—and to acknowledge district handbooks, student code of conduct, and technology use agreements for the upcoming school year.
Please note: This year, families must complete the Annual Update in order to access key information in the Parent Portal, such as grades, fees, and assessment data.
Helpful Reminders:
For best results, complete the Annual Update using a computer or tablet.
Address changes require two proofs of residency. A list of accepted documents is available on our Enrollment Required Documentation page.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this essential back-to-school step! The information gathered as part of the Annual Update supports the efficient operation of our district and is critical regarding our ability to communicate with parents in the event of an emergency.
