A message from the principal
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
We are thrilled to welcome our returning families back and greet those who are joining our community for the first time. It is going to be an incredible year of growth, learning, and connection.
Here are a few quick updates and key events to kick off the year:
Open House (Tomorrow): Please ensure you are signed up for a dedicated appointment with your teacher between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM. If those times don't fit your schedule, feel free to drop by for our traditional open house format from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
School Pictures: Student photos will be taken in the gym during Open House tomorrow. If you miss it, our retake/makeup picture day is scheduled for October 1st.
Welcome Back Night (Thursday, Sept. 17 | 5:00–7:00 PM): Join us for free dinner, a DJ, family resources, and a chance to mingle with the community. We would love to see you there!
Our Theme: Belief and Joy: This year, our guiding focus is Belief and Joy. We know students thrive when they feel supported and believed in, and we are committed to making our classrooms vibrant, welcoming spaces. To share that joy with you, we are launching a brand-new monthly newsletter—think of it as a highlight reel of posts celebrating our amazing students and staff.
We are so proud to partner with you in your child’s education. Please never hesitate to reach out to our main office if there is anything we can do to support your family. Welcome back, families, to the 2026-2027 school year!
Nicki Magaard, Principal

We are working hard to keep our morning drop off line moving quickly and safely for all families and students. If you drop your student off in the morning, please review the reminders below:
- Do not park in the drop off line, this line is for drop and go only.
All adults must remain in the car during drop off. If you would like a longer goodbye with your child, please feel free to park in the lot or at Sunny Acres and walk them over to the door.
Make sure that your child exits your car on the side closest to the building/sidewalk.
At 9:10, students who eat breakfast are allowed into the cafeteria to eat. Other students will wait for the 9:20 bell behind their grade level cone.
Follow directions of staff directing traffic for everyone's safety.

Cellphone policy
There are no cellphones or smart watches allowed at Wilson during the school day (9:10-4:00).
We understand that some families may want their student to have a cellphone or smart watch for before or after school. These devices are a distraction to student learning. If a student has a cellphone or smart watch, they will be required to turn it in to the main office for safekeeping during the school day. They will be able to pick it up at the end of the day.
Attendance information
Student absences can be reported via the Web (you will need to know your parent account information) or via the ParentVUE Mobile App. Follow these instructions to report an absence.
You will still be able to contact the attendance line at 763-506-4706 to report an absence 24/7.
If your student will be late or absent, you must enter attendance online or by calling in order to have your students' absence counted as excused.
Each day that your student will be late or absent, you must enter attendance online or call the attendance line in order to have your students' absence counted as excused. Please DO NOT email your child's teacher with attendance information.

A few things to know about our classes:
If you sign your child up for an after school class (4:05 pm start time), please let their teacher know they'll be staying after school for Community Ed. We'll also send a reminder email to teachers on the day of the class.
Students should head straight to the gym after dismissal to check in.
You're welcome to send a snack for your child to eat before class. We also recommend a water bottle for any sport or active classes.
Parent pickup is at Door 2. Just pull up to the curb, and your student will come out to you. Students in the Adventures Plus (A+) program will be returned to A+.
