EJMS Families,

We are down to a busy nine days of school remaining - make sure you check out the calendar of events.

KSA (Kentucky Summative Assessment) Testing

State testing has gone incredibly smoothly and is complete for 8th and 7th grade. We have one more day for 6th grade on Monday as they complete the Math test. The rest of the week will be spent completing VLA and makeup tests. As part of testing we will have a Good Faith Effort rubric (see below).

Students will earn a point for each item during each day of testing. In order to be eligible for Field Day students must earn at least 13/16 points for 6th grade, 20/24 points for 7th grade, and 27/32 points for 8th grade. Our Field Day will include many outdoor activities on May 27th.

Reminder about Chromebook Fees (if applicable)

Students will be returning their Chromebooks on Friday, May 22nd and teachers will inspect devices for any unknown damage that has occurred. See below for replacement costs in case they apply to your child:

$350 for Lost Devices or full replacement cost
$50 for Screen damage or replacement
$45 for Keyboards
$20 for front frame bezel (frame that covers screen)
$10 hinge cover bar (bar that covers hinge pins)

If you know that your child’s device needs any of the above replacements you can send money to the office and we will process the fee. Otherwise all devices will be assessed for any damages (including other possible damage not listed above) and parents will be notified of the fees incurred through Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Fees can be paid online through Infinite Campus or you can send cash/check. 8th grade students must have fees paid before the end of the school year. 6th and 7th grade students must have all fees paid (and Online Registration completed) prior to next school year in order to begin the scheduling process. If these items are not completed by the end of the school year your child may not get their requested Arts classes.

Monday, May 25th - Memorial Day (no school)
Tuesday, May 26th - 8th grade house reveal at EJHS
Wednesday, May 27th - Field Day, Family game night 4:30-6:00
Friday, May 29th - Snowie Ice fundraiser for MSD classrooms
Monday, June 1st - Last day of school

From the School Nurse

If your child has medications from this year, please make arrangements to have those picked up before the last day of school. There will not be anyone at school who can work with those after June 1.

Our yearbooks have gone to the printer - have you ordered yours?! You can still order yearbooks, but any ordered from this point on will need to be shipped to students' homes instead of to school.
