Superintendent's Message

Dear JUHSD Community,

As Wednesday was World Teachers' Day, I'd like to thank all JUHSD employees for serving as teachers and role models to the amazing students in our district. I am extremely proud of our dedicated team and invite you to honor them with me.

Please note that this Monday, October 10, all district sites will be closed in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day. Held annually on the second Monday of October, this day celebrates the rich histories, diverse cultures and important contributions of our nation's first people. To learn more about this day, please click here.

On Wednesday, October 12, Jefferson High School will kick off the Open House season for future JUHSD students and their families. If you have a rising 9th grader, please reacquaint yourselves with our schools by attending Open House. I encourage prospective students to schedule a time to shadow at schools and see, firsthand, the amazing things happening on our campuses! Please click on the Open House image found in today's Update below for more information.

Throughout the month of October, many groups and causes are acknowledged, including:

  • LGBT History Month
  • Filipino American History Month
  • National Principals Month
  • Breast Cancer Awareness Month
  • Down Syndrome Awareness Month
  • Emotional Wellness Month
  • German-American Heritage Month
  • Italian-American Heritage Month

Please click on the above links to learn more!

As a district, we applaud the uniqueness and diversity of our students and staff. It is their contributions that make JUHSD so special.

Please enjoy the three-day weekend and remember that my door is always open.

Warmly,

Toni Presta

Superintendent

District Shirt For Sale

Many staff members, districtwide, have asked about the new black tee shirt being worn by District Office employees. As a fundraiser for their DO Sunshine Committee, these shirts were sold in early September. If you would like to purchase one, please click HERE.

Please contact Austin Worden, District Director of Communication and Staff Housing with any questions you may have.
