Craddock's Weekly Update
For the Week of August 10, 2026
Happy Beautiful Sunday Afternoon!
I am beyond ecstatic to be embarking on this upcoming week! This is the week we get to formally welcome the Craddock staff back, as well as get our students excited to return with our annual Meet and Greet on Thursday, 8/13 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. I hope you plan to join us! Don't forget to bring your child's supplies to drop off!
Teacher placements are set to go out tomorrow, Monday, 8/10 around midday. I will be working hard to get them out as close to that as possible. We have worked really hard since spring to ensure each of our students are in the best place possible to be set up for success this year!
This is the main form of communication I put out to you throughout the year and I do my best to make it a one-stop-shop! I know it can feel like a lot some weeks, but I will continue to encourage you to peruse it each week I send it out for any information you may be looking for. Many of the pieces I put in remain in throughout the school year to help meet your needs so your child has all they need when they come to Craddock each day!
Enjoy the rest of this beautiful day and know I am so excited to see everyone on Thursday from 3:00-5:00. I will be stationed at the main entrance of Craddock, so please stop by to say hello or ask any questions you may have!
Sincerely,
Kim Stewart, Principal

Craddock's Meet and Greet on Thursday, 8/13/26 from 3:00-5:00
We are so excited to invite all of our Craddock students and their families to our annual back-to-school Meet and Greet! We will hold this on Thursday, August 13th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Craddock!
To help reduce traffic within the building and issues with parking, we encourage all families whose last names end with the letters A-L to attend during 3:00-4:00 and those whose last names end with M-Z attend during 4:00-5:00. Thank you!
Our Meet and Greet is an awesome opportunity for students to see where their classrooms are, meet their teacher, drop off supplies, catch up with friends and visit one of our many tables to gather information on Scouts, PTO, etc. We will also have a school bus available for students to practice getting on and off of, as well as the Kona Ice Truck! Please know Kona will be done serving guests promptly at 5:00, so if you want to get some, you must be getting served by 5:00, not just in line.
It's a lot of fun and a great way to continue to get ready for the start of another fantastic school year! Please plan to drop in and see us on August 13th! The Craddock staff is so excited to welcome everyone back!
Craddock's Transportation/Attendance Google Form for 2026-2027
We do our best to funnel all communication about our students' transportation and absences through our Google form connected below through the QR code and below through a link. This GREATLY reduces the craziness in the office having to address these calls and/or emails and it also helps us ensure no communication falls through the cracks. If we are receiving it from multiple places, it gets harder to track on busy days!
If you have any need to report your child absent, late or needing an early dismissal, just enter it into our form. If you need to change your child's transportation at any time, just enter it into our form. The responses go right to Mrs. Kerchenski in our main office. If she has any questions at all after reading your entry, she will always reach out!
THANK YOU in advance for helping us streamline our processes and most importantly, for doing all you can to ensure we know where your child is and how they are getting home safely each day!
New-to-Aurora Student/Family Orientation
If your family is new to Aurora for the 26-27 school year and you have a child attending Craddock, you are invited to a special orientation event on Wednesday, 8/12 at 6:30 p.m. in Craddock's cafeteria. This is an opportunity to learn valuable information about Craddock and how we operate to ensure you feel comfortable and know all you need to support your child best! We are so excited to see you and your family! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions at all!
If your child attended Miller in Kindergarten, you do not need to attend. 🙂

Transportation Information from Mrs Wingler 🚌
Happy August!
All students schedules are currently available through the MyRide K-12 App. How to access the App is located on the ACSD website under Departments/Transportation on the right side of the webpage. I have included the link below.
If any student is needing to be picked up or dropped off other than their home location, they MUST fill out an alternate bus stop form before we can transport and return to us by email, fax or dropping off at the office. That form is located in the same area as listed below on the webpage and is also included below.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. My email is cwingler@aurora-schools.org.
Car Rider Information
You are the most important piece to ensuring these very important times of the day run smoothly! All of our procedures are in place to protect the safety of our students, staff and visitors. Thank you in advance for your efforts and patience!
ARRIVAL
- Drop off each morning can take place from 8:40-8:55 a.m. Students are not permitted to exit cars until 8:40. Thank you!
- Car riders need to be dropped off following the route detailed in the map below. It is a single file line formed down Hurd Rd. This is the same line used for pick up in the p.m.
- Students can only exit cars on the sidewalk side of the horseshoe. We ask that you please adjust car seats and/or child locks if needed. Parents stay in cars at all times.
- Staff will be outside daily to help students enter the building and navigate to their classroom.
DISMISSAL
- Car rider dismissal begins each day at 3:10, but will be 5-10 minutes earlier the first few weeks of school. Students will be called down as you arrive in our horseshoe. We do this electronically through a Google Doc that all of the staff are watching so they know when to dismiss each car rider.
- All car rider parents will be issued a tag for the backside of their passenger visor with their child's last name on it. These can be secured at Meet and Greet or throughout the school year.
- Parents remain in cars and students will be escorted to their car by a staff member.
- When everything is up and running after a few weeks, car rider dismissal usually takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
