๐ฃHello Families!
I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break!
Let's make the rest of the year, the best by doing the following:
1- Send your child to school every day unless they are sick
2- Send your child to school ON TIME so they won't miss reading instruction
3- Do not sign your child out EARLY unless it is an emergency
Doing 1-2-3 will help your child learn more during the last days of school.
Our students have worked so hard on their iReady Tests. I am so proud of our teachers and students. Parents, you play a HUGE PART in this GREAT ACHIEVEMENT. They have made a lot of gains with your help. See our School Goals below.
Melvin Nesbitt Jr., our Artist in Residence, will be at MHW on Monday. He will work with our students in art class during their regular time. Please make sure your child is present for this experience this week.
For those who may not know, Melvin painted the artwork, donated by Steven Milliken, that is located in the front office behind the desk. He attended MHW in 4th grade, which had a significant impact on his life. He currently resides in Washington, DC. The Millikens donate to our PTO yearly and we are thankful for that.
You can read about him here: https://msac.org/directory/artists/melvin-l-nesbitt-jr
