HEC takes on the Special Olympics Polar Plunge
On Saturday, February 8th, our HEC team braved the cold waters of Lake Murray to raise money and create awareness for Special Olympics. HEC raised over $2,000 for this year's event. A portion of those proceeds will come back to HEC to help our Classy Crocs! Thank you to all who participated and donated.
SCDE School Climate Survey
The South Carolina Department of Education has partnered with the Education Oversight Committee to deliver a parent survey. The responses to this survey help school and district leaders understand how parents feel about the school. A link to this survey is being sent to the parents or guardians of every student in South Carolina.
If you have multiple children, you might get several links. We are only asking you to complete one survey for each school your children attend. You are permitted to complete one survey for each of your children if you want, but only one survey for each school is needed.
Check your email and spam for a link to this important survey. If you do not have an email address, you can ask the school registrar to print out a QR code for you to scan with your phone. The link will take you directly to the survey."
Thank you for getting your students to school on time!
Parents, Thanks for getting your child to school on time and for using our designated car lines!
The first 75 drivers in our morning car rider lines were treated a breakfast treat with attendance brochures on Wednesday, March 13th.
Habit 7 - Sharpen the Saw
We all feel better when we’re balanced, when we take time to renew the four parts of who we are: body, heart, mind, and soul. Just as a car has four tires, we, as people, also have four parts. And to be healthy and happy, all four parts need time and attention. If we focus on only one part, like exercising our mind through books, we neglect the other parts, body, heart, and soul. We become lethargic.
What can you do to teach your child to sharpen the saw at home?
1. For two nights in a row, go to bed early, and see how great you feel when you wake up!
2. For one whole week, read for 20 minutes every day.
3. Go play with someone who you haven't played with for a long time.
4. Do your favorite outdoor activity with someone you love.
5. Think about the things in your life that make you happy, like your grandma, your dog, a fun toy, or playing with your friends.
→Send in a photo of your child doing these things at home and we will feature some of them in the next issue of the Crocodilian. Email the photo along with the student’s name, teacher, and grade to Katye Wilkinson at kwilkinson@lexrich5.org by March 31st .
