Why We Exist!

The Black Educators' Network (B.E.N.) recently became a 501(c) nonprofit organization to better serve students of color, their teachers, their parents, and others. In addition to providing relevant news, educational Zoom sessions, in-person educational events, and an annual convention focused on these groups, B.E.N. offers this monthly newsletter to inform and inspire teachers and parents of color. Please let us know if you have reactions to newsletters or ideas or material for future ones. Thanks for your participation!

In addition, B.E.N. strives to offer opportunities for teachers to continue their education so that they might serve students of color and all others. One such opportunity is the B.E.N. scholarship program for educators in Colorado. Please see details below to determine whether you qualify for this award!

Sincerely,

Dr. Theresa Newsom, B.E.N. Founder, Board Chair, and Newsletter Co-Editor

Being our Best Means Putting Ourselves at the Top!

Steps to being your best

Identify and list your self-care wants. Carve out the needed time to do one thing on your list each day, week or month. Repeat until you have completed everything on your list. Then make a new list or start over again with the initial list. Repeat!
