What is P.B.I.S.?

P.B.I.S. stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. At Hoover Elementary School, we believe that students can be taught how to make appropriate behavior choices in the same way that they can be taught math, reading, science, and social studies. Our three behavior expectations are:

  • Be Responsible
  • Be Respectful
  • Be Safe

We teach our students how to meet these expectations in a variety of settings (classroom, cafeteria, playground, bus, hall, bathroom, etc.). We reinforce appropriate behaviors with verbal praise and with P.B.I.S. Tickets. Students who earn tickets can exchange them for a sticker that they can wear proudly throughout the day. Students can also earn prizes on Friday during our P.B.I.S. raffle. The more tickets you earn each week, the better the chance you have of winning a prize.

Our P.B.I.S. program has been recognized by the PA Commonwealth as being effective in helping our students to make appropriate behavior choices.

If you have any questions regarding our program, or if you have any suggestions for how we could improve our program for 2026-2027, please email any of the following individuals:
