A SPOOKY week ahead!
UAH and Dyslexia Awareness Month
Lincoln Families,
As we continue through October, we want to recognize two important opportunities to strengthen our school community: United Against Hate Week and Dyslexia Awareness Month. Both remind us of the importance of creating a school where every student feels valued, respected, supported, and included.
United Against Hate Week
United Against Hate Week encourages schools and communities to stand together against hate, discrimination, and bullying while promoting kindness, understanding, and belonging. At Lincoln, these principles are reflected in our ROAR values, particularly Respect and Ownership. We encourage our students to recognize the power of their words and actions, stand up for others, and help create a welcoming environment where everyone belongs.
Dyslexia Awareness Month
October is also Dyslexia Awareness Month, a time to increase understanding of dyslexia and recognize the different ways students learn. Dyslexia is a learning difference that primarily affects reading and spelling, but it does not define a student's intelligence, abilities, or potential.
At Lincoln, we recognize that students bring different strengths and learning needs to the classroom. Through effective instruction, appropriate supports, and a commitment to understanding each learner, we strive to ensure that every student has opportunities to grow and succeed.
Both recognitions remind us that our differences are part of what makes our school community stronger. When we lead with empathy, celebrate individual strengths, and support one another, we create a community where everyone can thrive.
ROAR Together. SOAR Together.

United Against Hate Week
Let's stand together!
This week, Lincoln is proud to recognize United Against Hate Week, a time to come together to promote kindness, inclusion, respect, and belonging throughout our school community.
Throughout the week, students will participate in meaningful activities and conversations about standing up against hate and supporting one another.
Here's what's happening:
Tuesday: Students will reflect on the statement, โI stand against hate becauseโฆโ and contribute to our grade-level murals.
Wednesday: ๐งก Wear Orange! Join us in wearing orange to show unity against hate. Students can also create their own United Against Hate buttons during lunch.
Thursday & Friday: Students can visit our grade-level murals during lunch and sign a pledge to stand against hate and lead with kindness.
Together, we can continue building a Lincoln community where everyone feels safe, valued, and included.

DEIA Committee Meeting
Thank you!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended this past weekโs DEIA Committee meeting. We had some deep and meaningful conversations that gave us an opportunity to reflect, share our perspectives, and connect with one another on a deeper level.
These conversations aren't always easy, but they are important. They remind us of the value of listening, understanding different experiences, and continuing to build a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
A special thank you to Erin Powers for her leadership and for guiding us through this important work. Your thoughtfulness and commitment to creating space for meaningful dialogue are truly appreciated.
This is what it means to ROAR Together. SOAR Together. โค๏ธ๐ค
