This week, on behalf of OPES, I dropped off our latest haul of aluminum tabs! We delivered an incredible 59.7 pounds. Since each pound contains about 1,000 tabs, that means we donated nearly 60,000 tabs!

Collecting them at home is incredibly easy. Just place a small jar or bag somewhere visible as a daily reminder. Before tossing a can into the recycling bin, simply pop the tab and drop it into your container. Don't stop at beverage cans, either! We also collect tabs from wet cat food, soup, or any other metal cans. When your container is full, please send it to school with your student for Mrs. Martinez (3rd grade), or message us directly to arrange a pickup or drop-off. It is a simple habit that makes a massive impact!
