Principal's Message
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;
Footprints that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

During our Friday assembly, our sixth-grade Titan Leaders recited A Psalm of Life by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. They did an incredible job reciting this poem and sharing Longfellow's beautiful and hopeful words. Each grade level will have the opportunity to recite a poem that they have studied during an assembly. It is fitting that sixth grade was the first grade to recite a poem this year, demonstrating to the other students what they are working towards during their time in elementary.
Some of the sixth-grade students were able to introduce the poem and give the other students some background information about the author. They were also able to share some of what the poem means to them and lessons they can take away. After their recitation, we spent some time looking at the two stanzas that I have referenced above. We discussed the challenges we may face in life, and the gift of being able to see the positive footprints of those that have gone before us. That gives us hope to keep going. We are grateful for the role models we all have in our lives. In the final stanza, this poem also calls us to act and leave our own positive footprints behind. Our school theme this year is "striving to be our best, do our best, and give our best to the world." Longfellow's image of footprints is a powerful reminder of that opportunity.
I am thankful for the time and space we have to come together on Friday mornings to remind ourselves of what is true, beautiful, and good. I am also thankful for the ways I have seen those in our community give their best this year and for the opportunities we have ahead.

TCA Fall Parent Academy
The TCA Fall Parent Academy will be Thursday, November 12 from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm at Central.

Carpool Volunteers
We are looking for two TCA Approved Volunteers per morning to help out at the K-2nd Grade Morning Carpool Drop Off (located at the front of the school). These volunteers will be given a vest to wear each morning and will be helping the children out of their cars from 7:40AM-8:15AM. Please arrive by 7:40 in order to begin carpool on time at 7:45! This will free up our Paras to be more available at "Pre-cess", the before school recess. Click here to sign up for any of the dates that you would like to volunteer.
