Savannah J says that Savannah is hard working, a very good student and is determined.

Myeva says that Savannah is a really nice person to be around. She is involved in the school whether it's through sports, clubs, etc. She is motivated and does really well in her classes. She cares about the people around her, She is overall just a really good person.

Jasmine M.

"My favorite class is IB English with Ms. Single. I love to read and write so being around others who have such a deep understanding and love for literature is fun. Also, because the class is so small, we all get along really well so being in the room always makes me feel happy. Right now, I am leaning towards Norfolk State University in Virginia. I want to study communications and journalism as my majors and minor in film. I want to go into a broadcast journalism career."

Savannah W.

"My favorite class is Science. I call this class my favorite because even though we cover a lot of information, Mrs. Williams always creates the most interesting experiments that go along with what we are covering in class. Currently I have applied to about 12 schools but I would like to attend New Jersey Institute of Technology or Hofstra University. I aspire to become an industrial engineer."

University of Baltimore Field Trip University of Baltimore Field Trip

We visited the University of Baltimore campus and spoke with their admissions representative about what they have to offer. The University of Baltimore recognizes the IB Diploma for 30 credits or one year of study. They also offer small class sizes across all majors and extensive student supports through advising, study groups and more. It is a great option for students who want to stay local and receive individualized attention in their major.

Students were able to combine with the Black Student Union to see the story of General Nanisca as she battled for her land and people. It is a true story of power, resistance, strength, and family.

CAS- Grades 11 and 12 CAS- Grades 11 and 12

All student who are working towards the IB Diploma must complete CAS. They work on reflection in the areas of Creativity, Activity, and Service over 18 months and must also complete one project. Yeily completed her project in October and was able to build dog houses with her family to raise over $450 for BARCS animal shelters.

One way to support your IB DP Student is to ask them what they did this week for CAS? Help them to reflect on what they are doing that is creative like cooking or art, active like sports or exercise, and service related like donating items.
