Important Safety Reminder
Attention car drop off & car pick up families
We have recently noticed cars stopping in the crosswalk and drivers attempting to go around other vehicles in our driveway during pickup. These actions create potentially dangerous situations for our students, families, and staff.
Please remain in the designated pickup line, do not pass other vehicles, and keep all crosswalks clear so our crossing guards and student walkers can cross safely. We know dismissal can be a busy time, and we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we work together to keep our school community safe.
đđ§ĄDWS PUMPKIN 5K~THANK YOU!đ§Ąđ
Our 13th Annual DWS 5K was such a success! It was wonderful to see so many of our DWS families come out, enjoy a beautiful morning together, and support our school. Events like these are a great reminder of what makes our DWS community so special!
A huge thank-you to our DWS Pumpkin 5K Committee, our amazing PTO, our staff and parent volunteers, our generous sponsors, and everyone who participated and helped make this event possible. We are so grateful for the time, hard work, and support that went into making the day such a success!
All money raised will go right back to supporting our students through school events, enrichment programs, field trip costs, and staff appreciation. We are fortunate to have such a generous and supportive school community, and it means so much to see everyone come together to create wonderful opportunities for our kids. Thank you for helping us continue to bring the joy to DWS!

Field Trip To Furnace Brook Thereputic Farm
Last year, our MALC program received a generous grant from the Marshfield Education Foundation (MEF) to support special enrichment opportunities for the students in our MALC program, including a visit to Furnace Brook Farms for equine therapy and a music therapy presentation from Sing, Explore, Create. These organizations provide thoughtfully designed, engaging experiences that are tailored to provide opportunities that support students growth, learning, and joy!
Unity Day
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and our DWS community came together to celebrate Unity Day by wearing orange and showing our support for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Unity Day was started by PACERâs National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 to raise awareness about bullying and show support for students who have experienced it. By standing together, we send a powerful message that bullying is never okay and that everyone deserves to feel safe, welcomed, and valued. At DWS, we know that creating a culture of belonging starts with the way we treat one another every day. Letâs continue to spread kindness, stand up for others, and make sure everyone feels like they belong! đ§Ą
Grade 4 Field Trip to Manomet Bird Conservatory
Our fourth graders enjoyed an exciting day of learning at Manomet Bird Observatory! Students explored the fascinating world of birds and learned about migration, bird habitats, and how birds adapt to survive in different environments. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience science beyond the classroom!
Grade 4 Writing Celebration
Our fourth graders celebrated their hard work as writers by sharing their 3D dream bedrooms! After designing their dream spaces, students wrote descriptive pieces bringing their creations to life with details and imagination. We loved seeing their creativity shine through both their writing and their designs!
Building Foundational Literacy in Kindergarten
Kindergarten students in Mrs. Prendergast's class have been exploring lowercase letters during their Fundations lessons! They are building their letter recognition skills and becoming more familiar with the letters and their sounds as they develop a strong foundation for reading and writing.
First Grade Tools & Work
Our first graders are continuing to learn all about tools and how they help make work easier! This week, Mr. McFarland visited Mrs. Bertulliâs class. Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. McFarland, for taking the time to visit us and give our students a glimpse into life on the water! â
Mr. McFarland visited us today to share all about his job as a mariner! He showed us the tools he uses to navigate his impressive 550-foot ship from New York to Boston. Students learned how he uses radar, a compass, a depth sounder, safety equipment, and binoculars to help him do his job.
